''Mel's Well'' sometimes called ''Mel's Hole'' is an alleged ''Bottomless Pit'' located on the Property of one Mr. Mel Waters (or so identified). The ''Hole'' is located near The Town of Ellensburg, Washington State (US). It's very existence came to light, when one ''Mel Waters'' called into a popular National Radio Show which dealt with Paranormal Activities and UFOs. The origins of The ''Hole'' were somewhat unclear, with Mel claiming that it can be traced back thousands of years as evidenced by local Native American folklore. The ''Hole'' (it seems) served as the access point to The ''Underworld''. Mel stated that he lowered almost 80,000-feet of marked fishing line, in an attempt to determine it's actual depth. Later, Mel stated that He had ''found Secret Documentation'' that showed The ''Hole'' was actually a ''porthole'' leading to a Top Secret US Government Base that housed ''Alien Technology''. It may have also been ''created by'' Aliens. However, although ''Mel'' sent  The Talk Show Host photographs showing ''His'' find, there was no concrete way to prove that it was nothing more than a conventional ''hole in the ground''. Checks into Land Grants and Property Taxes, does not show one ''Mel Waters'' even existing. The ''Hole'' was decried as a Hoax. However, as some do when Mel's claims were made Public, The US Government quickly ''sealed'' their accidentally exposed ''entrance'' and made Mel Waters ''go away'' (even removing all traces of His ever existing).
