A seldom mentioned 12th Century AD villain ''Maleagant'' appeared in an early Arthurian Legend Cycle called ''The Life of Gildas''. A ''foil'' to Sir Lancelot, He was a constant in challenge towards Him. According to Lancelot mythos, The Queen Guinevere was abducted by Maleagant and His Henchmen. It took King Arthur, His Knights and Lancelot to rescue Her. In The ''Gildas'' Text, Lancelot slew Maleagant in single Combat.
