In Caribbean Folklore, The Lusca is a fiercesome Beast, said to be part Shark (several it seems) and part Octopus. Also said to range between 100 and 200-feet in length, The Lusca was ''reported'' by Sailors as early as the 17th Century. Myths also cite that The Lusca can assume the shape of a Human Female, ''beautiful to behold''. ''It'' lures Sailors to their death (by which The Lusca eats them!) The myth is similar to The Greek myth of The Sirens and Harpy.
