''La Mancha Negra'' or ''The Black Stain'' is a strange phenomenon which began in 1986 in The City of Caracas, Venezuela. On a Main Highway in Caracas (between The City and it's Airport), the strange oily substance has been seeping through the road's asphalt, on a 50-yard stretch. The substance will cause strange fissures to appear (thru which the substance seeps). It has been responsible for many accidents as well as many lives as a result. Millions of Dollars have been spent just to try and figure out what the substance is and why it cannot be made to ''go away''. Sealed with various adhesives of various high test strengths, dug up and replaced by newer stretches of road, even excavating underneath for a source nothing has shown ''what and where'' it comes from. Let alone ''why''). The phenomenon will go away on it's own and return ''when it wishes'' (it seems). There is not a pattern. Some cite that the substance is a combination of a nearby sewer and it's reaction to asphalt. This is doubted though. After 1996, the substance disappeared until 2001 when it came back. A popular theory is that the highway was built by the removal of a local Tribal Society. They were not allowed to take their possessions to include their Ancestors remains. Some state that The Construction Company simply bulldozed over ''everything''. The Mancha Negra is seen as their Curse forever!
