Although traced to a real Welsh Ruler in the 6th Century AD – ''King Uriens'' features briefly in Mallory;s ''Le Morte'' Saga. Opposing Arthur's attempts to unify Britain – He would be defeated and swear loyalty to Him. It was Uriens and Arthur who thwarted Morgana in stealing ''Excalibur'' The Sword (when given back to ''The Lady of The Lake'') – to repair after Arthur's ''misuse'' of the blade in battle against Lancelot (upon Their first encounter together). In reality, King Uriens was one of the first ''English Kings'' after the Fall of Rome to craft a ''Kingdom'' and used the Roman Fortification known as Hadrian's Wall as a primary defense.
