Another related Arthurian Cycle characters, from ''Tristan and Iseult'', King Anguish was Father to Iseult. An Enemy of a young King Arthur, he resisted the new King's call for Unification under His Reign. Preparing an Army for War, He would become embroiled in a Conflict with the aforementioned King Mark. Defeated, King Anguish abdicated rather than serve under Arthur. Some Scholars of The Arthurian Cycle of Stories cite that King Anguish was based on a 5th Century Irish King, Oengus.
