Finnish Mythos states that The Goddess ‘’Kalma’’ was a Pagan Deity, associated with not only Graveyards – but the overall ‘’stench of death’’ (decay). Ad while this would be seen odd that a Deity was so venerated, Kalma was actually a ‘’good thing’’. Without Her ensuring The Dead ‘’decomposed’’ – nature would be ‘’out of sorts’’ (as it were). Further, the smell of decay, especially among Humans meant that The Soul was no longer present in the ‘’physical form’’ and as such Kalma was ‘’ridding’’ The Earth of such corruption.
