A Pagan Bulgarian Myth – ''Ispolin'' were said to be inhabitants of The Earth ''before'' Humans. These Beings were identified as being ''Giants'', but in reality -they may have simply been ''Tall Peoples''. On average, thousands of years ago (based on skeletal remains), a ''Male'' rarely exceeded 5-feet in height. Therefore, ''anyone'' 5-foot 7 (or better), would be considered ''Giants''. Said to have been strictly Hunters and not Planters or Harvesters, The Ispolin could not survive when The Gods ''gave Animals'' the ability to hide (conceal) themselves. It is said that The Race died out. Some of the first written Ispolin ''Tales'' date to stories collected in 11th Century AD Russia (which also has a similar Mythos).
