 A mythical creature, The Imp is present in most Human cultures and regions. Known to run the gamet of being friendly to being hurtful, Imps are akin to Gnomes, Trolls and more closer to the Leprechauns of Ireland. The Imp can be associated with Nature (water, earth and forest). Imps are seen as being somewhat odd in appearance and were also associated with Curses. They will often also use trickery to get what they are tasked to (normally beautiful women or children). Imps were also blames for missing items within one's house. It is said that the playing of music will control an Imp to some degree. Imps have been portrayed with wings and a tail in some cultures (linking them to demonic stories as servants of The Devil). Art throughout the centuries have also taken this view (in both painting and in literature).
