An early Christian Religious Symbol, The ''IH'' Monogram was said to be the replacement for the early ''Ichthys'' (Fish) Symbol, formerly used by Christians who had to practice their Faith in secret (or face mostly a horrible torture and death). With the legalization of Christianity in both The Western and Eastern Churches, those new ''Initiates'' into The Faith would be identified and use The ''IH'' Symbol. It's origins are associated with the presumed initial (in Greek) of Jesus Christ. Displayed as an ''H'' (Letter) with an ''I'' superimposed in the center of The ''H''). It was used in Art and Literature beginning in the 4th Century AD, but would would be discontinued in general uss by the 7th Century AD.
