Huggin' Molly

There is no clear cut origin about ''Huggin' Molly''. ''She'' is ''native'' to The Town of Abbeville, Alabama. The Tale may be 100 years or more old as well. ''Molly'' it seems, is a Ghost. A ''gianr'' of a Spirit She stands 7-feet tall and is seen wearing a large black cloak and matching, wide brimmed hat. The Spectre is said to quickly advance on people, and begins to hug them. While doing so, Molly ''screams in their ear'' – before she vanishes. There are several explanations for this. The first, is that Molly lost Her Child in life. She spent the remainder of her life wandering the streets at night. IF she found any wayward children, She would ''hug and scream'' at them until they went home. In another version, Molly was a woman who was murdered. Screaming for help, no one heard – and thus could not help. As such, She ''grabs'' unsuspecting people, still trying to ''get help''.
