Originating in Norse Saga, ‘’Hafgufa’’ was said to be a ‘’massive Sea Serpent’’ (Monster), reported by Norse Ships, off Greenland. As early as the 12th Century AD – Hafgufa was recorded. Said to be a ‘’giant Beast’’ with a ‘’Serpent Neck’’, much of these early chronicles describe a Creature very similar to a long extinct prehistoric animal. ‘’Living’’ in the cold North Atlantic, some Norse Saga tell of ‘’battles’’ with Hafgufas. Most of these however are put off as contact with various species of Whale. Still, as late as the 18th Century AD – Whalers and Merchant Ships of Greenland have reported sightings of ‘’strange Beasts’’ NOT of any species of Whale or related Sea Mammal.
