The term Grave Field is applied to Bronze (and later Iron Age locations, commonly used as Cemeteries. As applied, these were large, fields of Earth, often without plant life (trees, grass, shrubs etc). Due to their age (around 12,000 BC), many were lost to time and the course of Humankind and it's development. Typically, Ancient Peoples who subscribed to Grave Fields (as they had no common name applied), simply dug holes (roughly 5-feet long and 4-feet deep), and placed their deceased inside. Often accompanied by ''Grave Goods'' (personal items), Grave Fields had no form of Marker or Monument to so identify them. They are also known as ''Flat Graves'' and ''Kurgan Fields''.
