In Voodoo and Hoodoo ''lore'', The ''Grand Boa'' is a Loa that protects Nature and animals. He is portrayed (personified) as a large Boa Snake. He is offered fruit and plants, which The Grand Boa enjoys. He will not eat other foods (meat, fish etc), but will nonetheless accept the gift of offering. The Grabd Boa is sought for protection during ordination ceremonies into The Voodoo Priesthood.
