Claimed as being the ''Magical Helmet'' worn by King Arthur, “Goswhit” has been described in various versions. As Arthur was a “Warrior King”, he did fight with his Knights (especially when he was uniting the fractured Kingdoms which would become “Camelot”). Medieval Artists in the 14th Century, began to show Arthur in various battles wearing a Nasal Helmet (which was a very commonly used Helmet). His was highly adorned and engraved (befitting his “station” as King). Some Sources claim that The Magician Merlin placed a spell on Goswhit – which allowed Arthur to become invisible. Others cite that Goswhit increased Arthur's “strength” two-fold. The Helm was buried with Arthur.
