The Legendary Sword of Arthurian Knight Sir Gawain, “Galatine” was no doubt a typical Medieval Straight Sword. Measuring around 35-inches in length, it is often portrayed with a curved (open) Hand Hilt protective Bar. This style was indicative of French Swordmakers. As A Knight of The Round Table, “Galatine” was no doubt highly decorated to reflect his allegiance to His Order and King. The ultimate end of “Galatine” is unknown – other than the point that it was no doubt buried with him (as with most Knights).
