The Goddess of Lightning, ‘’Fulgora’’ was well known and venerated in Ancient Rome. In truth, She was probably ‘’adopted’’ from a similar Grecian character who was ‘’Weapons Bearer’’ to Zeus. She and others of Her ‘’species’’ of Gods announced The God’s arrival in Olympus with the crash of Thunder and Lighting. Fulgora also produced the very Bolt of ‘’spear-like lightning’’ used as a weapon by Zeus. Fulgora's lightning bolts were seen as a symbol of Roman Military Power, and featured prominently in Roman Military Art.
