The Roman Deity Februus (of which some Historians link the origins of the Gregorian Calendar Month February to), was seen as a God of Purification. The older Etruscan Culture worshiped Him as well. However, as Roman History progressed, Februus would be associated with Wealth and the removal of disease. If One properly Honored Him, should they become ill with fever – the bodily reaction of sweating, was seen as Februus ''working to remove'' the malady. Should the person die, then their faith in Him was not that great. Nonetheless, Februus was known to convey such Souls into The Underworld. The Month of February was seen as His, with Festivals involving the washing of one's body in purifying waters.
