Ekimmu

 The Ekimmu are evil spirit-demons from Ancient Assyria. They are the evil spirits of a person who was denied entrance into The Afterlife. As such, they were doomed to wander The Earth. Often made from those who were murdered, drowned or killed in battle  The Ekimmu followed a similar mythical creature from China (The Ch'iang Shih). If an Assyrian was left unburied in the desert  evil spirits would resurrect the corpse (also known as Ekimmu). If one saw The Ekimmu, the spirit would attach itself to that person (and their family), until bad fortune effect them all. Although a Shaman could remove an Ekimmu  it was very difficult to do.
