A Spanish Film Production from 1970 - ''Count Dracula'', starring Christopher Lee - was the only ''Dracula'' Film not produced by iconic Hammer Studios. An independent feature, it is billed as a ''faithful'' retelling of Bram Stoker's 1897 Novel. It was also one of the only versions where Lee ACTUALLY had more than a few lines of dialogue as The Count. starring veteran German Character Actor Klaus Kinski as the maniacal Reinfield - the spooky backdrops of Barcelona, Spain enhanced the film. Unlike other Dracula versions, this one actually showed an ''aged'' Count slowly becoming young as He drank blood. Although plodding at times, which annoyed critics at the time - ''Count Dracula'' is somewhat worth a watch due to it's at times spot on version of The Novel. When released in 1970, it bombed in Spain - but did very well in France, Germany and England. A ''dubbed'' English version was released in The US in 1971 and was lukewarm in it's reception. Over the years though - it has become a Cult Classic.
