As we have seen, American 20th Century Horror Novelist HP Lovecraft was a Master of the Genre with His creation of a ''World'' where Ancient ''Demon Monsters'' and related Beings of Terror, dwelled. The Chaugnar Faugn was one such created by His Associate, Horror and Pulp Writer Frank Belknap, The Being is best known from His Novel, ''The Horror From The Hills'' (1931). Shown as an Elephantine God, Faugn is a combination of that animal and Octopus with Human elements. ''He'' is fast, so as to ensnare His prey (Humans). His ''Trunk'' is used to drain blood from His Victims (which He consumes for survival).

Another of Lovecraft's ''Dimensional Beings'' who came to Earth through ''magic'' used to ''open a door'' to our ''plain of reality'', Chaugnar Faugn came to The Planet many millions of years ago when Saurians roamed. Needing ''slaves'', He created The Miri Nigri (a Race of proto-Human and Reptiles). In both Lovecraft's and Belknap's ''mythos'', Faugn is considered a ''Great Old One''.
