Similar is respects to ''Voodoo'', ''Hoodoo'' and several other African/Haitian based Religious Beliefs, ''Candomble'' is associated with some Regions of Brazil (South America). Brought to that Country via The Slave Trade (Spain), the People combined Religion from their Native Lands with that of Catholicism. As with ''Voodoo'', a new form of Religious Belief was thus created. Unlike others, no concept of ''Good or Evil'' exists in Candomble. Achieving 'The Afterlife'' requires each Believer to completely fulfill His or Her ''talents in Life'' (whatever that may be). Like others, Believers offer prayers and tangle ''gifts'' to a Host of different Deities. Animals and fruits are both used.
Arguably, some Theologians cite that Candomble was one of the first such ''Diaspora'' (African displacement) religions to ''The New World''. Music, song and especially ritualistic dancing are a hallmark of the Belief. In terms of music, although Brazil is a Spanish speaking Country, most Candomble songs are sung in Portuguese.
''Spiritual Healing'' is unique. Food Offerings slated to a particular Deity is ''placed'' on the top of a person's head. During the accompanying prayers, the ''energy'' from the food is ''absorbed'' into the ''Spiritual Center'' of the body (the brain). This ''encourages the particular Deity to ''heal'' the illness suffered. Although seen as Heretical by traditional Christian Religions, Brazil's Government finds an increasing number of People ''converting to'' and or going to Practitioners of Candomble for help. It is therefore an ''accepted'' Religion in that Country, even today.
