From Lake Brosno, Russia (in The Tver Region), comes this interesting story of another Lake Monster . Known as Brosnya , it was originally reported back in the 13th Century. Per legend, a Tartar-Mongol Army had stopped by the Lake to water their horses. Suddenly, a huge serpentine beats rose up from the Lake and began to eat their horses (several at a time, it seems). This so scared the invaders that they retreated from their plans to Siege The City of Novogrod. Since then, Fisherman and errant cattle herds have been swallowed up on occasion by Brosnya . Not liking human contact, the beast is nocturnal. Another legend has out creature defending Russia yet again in World War II. Brosnya attacked and swallowed a German ME109! (and was witnessed doing such!) Many people still claim to see the creature in Lake Bronso even today
