Bodach

 In Scottish Folklore, The Bodach is akin to The Boogeyman. They can assume the Human form of an ''Old Hag'' (Woman), and try to trick their victims into a variety of calamities (most resulting in ''death by misadventure''. In their ''true form'' The Bodach is a large, formless blob of massive maw (mouth) and ''devilish eyes''. They live in Bogs and Marshes mostly. Some cite the name Bodach being found in writings from 1,000 BC. Their origins are unknown.
