Related to many Slavic Countries, The ''Blednica'' is a rather cunning Demoness. She likes to assume the guise of a ''pretty young girl'' or ''Beautiful Woman'', and entice Her victims into deep and dark promises with promises of lust. The farther they go into the woods, the better. Before One realizes it, they are hopelessly lost. Her goal is to so totally confuse One, that they will never find their way out and starve to death. Should that not work, Blednica sends wild animals to devour them. Many Hunters, prior to commencing their activities, make an offering of blood (animal) to Blednica. This is said to appease Her and She will not bother them in the woods.
