The Yoruba Tribes of Africa called their Deities ''Orisha''. They are seen as ''Creation Beings'' of immense power. One such is ''Ayao''. One of the oldest of Orisha She is seen as both Patroness of The ''Calm'' experienced during the passing of the epicenter of a Tornado or Hurricane. She also associated with The Forest. Ayao was also adopted into The Santerian Belief and is seen as a ''possession'' spirit.
