In Zulu (South African) Culture, ''Ayaanle'' were a Class of ''Spirit'', most associated with The European Concept of ''Guardian Angel''. They were personified as Female and benevolent. When a Person died, The Ayaanle ''came'' to guide their Soul into The Afterlife. The Ayyanle guided both ''Good and Bad'' Souls.
