From The Ancient Mayan Culture, comes the stories of The Alux. These were Little People and somewhat similar to Ireland's later Leprechauns. They were considered Spirit Beings who were mostly invisible. When an injustice occurred against them (or other Alux), they would assume a humanoid appearance. Some Mayan factions stated that The Alux were helpful and not malevolent. They would guard one's crops against predators. In fact, to honor their helpers , Ancient Mayans built little houses for their Alux (many which have survived even unto today). Small Alux statues are also found in many Regions that were once part of The Mayan Empire. One thing all humans must remember. Alux do NOT give their name readily. When they do, they never wish to have a human being use it. To call an Alux by name meant extreme famine, war or worse!.
