Chile (South America), is well known for it's many legends. The Alicanto Bird is no exception. From the desert coastal area known as Atacama, The Alicanto is said to be a beautiful (and large), bird creature. At night, their bodies glow and are quite beautiful to behold. They subsist on gold and silver. It is good luck if a Miner sees The Alicanto. This means he will find gold or silver. IF, however a Miner traps an Alicanto (to use continuously), they will lead them to their deaths (usually by falling off a cliff). The legend seems to drift back to around the 12th Century (and is still known today).
