Brazilian Mythology states that ''Ahanga'' was a Protective Forest Spirit. Personified as a ''White Deer with Red (Glowing) Eyes'', Her role was to warn animals of approaching Human Hunters. While most such Forest Spirits allow some form of Hunting by Humans, Anhanga did not. Her method of warning, according to Legend, was to ''howl or scream'' very much as a Human Female. This warned animals, and caused fear to the Human Hunters. When Christian Missionaries converted many Brazilian Tribes, Anhanga was made a ''Demon'' and inherently ''Evil''.
