Adder Stones

These unusual and naturally occurring Stones are characterized by the hole which forms through them. This is most likely due to erosion over the Centuries by water. The Stones are indicative of England, Egypt and Germany (although many Countries have similar stories and stones, often man-made). Revered by The Druids and related Ancients, The Adder Stone is so called for the myth that the stones are formed from the hardened saliva of massed snakes. It is said that The Adder Stones possess great magic. Looking through the hole of one one can see a Witch, with possession of which all manner of illness can be cured. Even a snakebite can be cured. It is further said that a true Adder Stone will float and not sink in water. Often worn about The Neck as a Talisman, The Adder Stone was a very popular form of Folk Magic in The Middle Ages.
