Increasing Hunter Kill Rate

I found this nice little trick which allows you to have a faster hunt rate with hunters. I found it because I knew that archers in SH2 had a much faster fire rate than hunters, and thus their animations would have to be faster. You will want to go to this directory:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 2\meshes\units\animations" 

 

And you will see this:

 

 

Remember to back up your files.

 

While here, you will need to go to the "worker" and "soldier" folder. In the "worker" directory, locate the "hunter_shoot_arr

ow.GR2" and "hunter_shoot_arrow_end.GR2" files. Rename these "hunter_shoot_arrow_backup.GR2" and "Hunter_shoot_arrow_end_backup.GR2" or something similar so you can configure your setup with relative ease if something should go wrong.

 

 

Then, go to your "soldier" directory and look for the files "archer_shoot_arrow.GR2" and "archer_shoot_arrow_end.GR2". Copy these files and paste them in your "worker" directory.

 

 

Once you have done this, rename:

 

(" -> " means rename to)

 

"archer_shoot_arrow.GR2" -> "hunter_shoot_arrow.GR2" and

"archer_shoot_arrow_end.GR2" -> "hunter_shoot_arrow_end.GR2"

 

Finally, navigate to this directory:

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold 2\meshes\units\models

 

And rename "hunter.GR2" to "hunter_backup.GR2". Then copy and paste "archer.GR2"in the same folder, renaming the copy to "hunter.GR2". Now, when you launch the game, it should look something like this:

If you guys could share this then that would be fantastic. I did this in response to some guy who was talking about how hard it is to sustain double rations and this was just a helper to him, although I can't find that particular thread and I don't know who he was :P

That's interesting, cause having double rations is one of main ways how I get gold in Stronghold 2. :) Especially with food from my villages. :)
