A game from Steam as a gift? Or something else?

Recommended Posts

Hey, guys, I've started Steam this evening, and I noticed that I have 3 games - not 2 as I should be having. Then I took a look into the library, and after that I saw another game there - Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes...

Can someone tell me what is this about? Is this some New Year present from Steam, or a demo, or something like that? Also, if it is a gift, then I guess I have two days left to install it if I want (that's what it says: "Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes - 2 days left"), and then it's all mine? Also, may I be able to trade that game for another one, as this one appears to be similar to Heroes (Mights and Magic, etc...) and I haven't been a fan of that kind of game...

I think the games with "- x days left" are an offer from steam to test them.

Games which, like Micha stated, are free for a certain amount of days and are "exclusive" or "popular" will show up in your game library, available for download. This can be easily hidden by setting your library preference to "Installed", although I tend to leave it on "All Games" in case a game which sounds good pops up :)

Indeed, who knows! In fact, it would be the best if Steam had such a policy for all games. I mean, it would be nice if you could try a game before buying it... It would be possible, and of course, there would have to be some limitations, such as - to try a game you need to have another game purchased and activated at Steam. It would be a trial version that would last 24 or 48 hours for example. There might be other limitations with the number - one could choose to play a trial version of the game once in a month for example.

Of course, I guess it wouldn't happen, as then people would be buying less bad games.

I mean, that would be one use of Steam which we don't like much. :)

This would be a good idea but Steam would drastically lose money. Think how many games you have bought and then not played them again. I've done that to a lot of games. Also it's not entirely up to Steam but also the game developers :)

Hello, in my exploration of old versions of the game for both nostalgia and trying to find some things out, ive found numerous things. Battle music in Skirmish sometimes working  , different worker behaviours, different AI behaviours and how they functino [as well as their stone cheat] GAME SPEED NOT BEING TIED TO FPS, slower game speed overall, different lighting settings and i guess shaders overall that affect insides of the buildings [and it not just being textures] and even building pricing.

So after having many crashing issues with version 1.2 of Stronghold Legends and shortly after realizing I lost the Stronghold Collection disk sometime after Christmas (if you don't know you can still play the Stronghold Collection games even if you lose the disk if the game is already downloaded to your computer) I uninstalled Stronghold Legends v 1.2 from my laptop a day or two ago. Today I did obtain the game again through Steam (yay!) and whilst playing through the King Arthur campaign (just

Hello - first time posting here but I've loved stronghold 2 from release till now.  Started playing the steam edition and it looks likes in the economy mission 4 the cart transports don't affect the granary level at all? I've tried different food types but the bar doesn't increase at all after the cart arrives into the granary, no matter how many carts I send. I've verified the files and there's no issue, but I'm honestly not sure what to do beyond this point since it's such a weird

    • Economic Game: Calanais

Hey folks, I've just completed the stand-alone economic mission, Calanais! It's something of a grind - you cannot grow or buy food apart from hops and ale, and there are no trees. You are constantly assailed by bandits. Your only economic recourse is to sell stone, keep your peasants drunk and religious, and tax them. The aim is to gain (and maintain for a period) a large population (118 at normal difficulty). The early stages of the game in particular are tricky. The bandits will
