Steam scammer

Someone just tried to steal my account but it didn't work so always look out for people like this.

When someone just randomly adds you as her/his friend don't accept.

Most of the time they are lvl one and have no games installed.

And look at the fake Steam link.

Thanks for lettings us know! I did come to my mind that stealing those accounts is possible, and that is one thing that could really create some problems considering that you didn't put only time into that - you putted your money as well.

By the way, do you know what exactly they need to do to steal an account? Why does adding them to friends helps them? Also, is there a way to verify our accounts in some way in order to secure ourselves? Could recovering by email work, or something like that?

 

I didn't know that one could steal someones account this way, although some other things did cross my mind before...

I think there is a programm in it. When you enter your information then it sents the information to his e-mail.

Thanks @xiiMaRcLeoN, I've submitted the site in the link that was given to you to PhishTank. I've also contacted the hosting provider of the website in an attempt to get it taken offline.

Oh, now I saw it - I didn't notice that the link is different than the real steam communities one.

 

Thanks for reminding us of these things! I did know there are scams like this one - but it is good to be reminded now and then about these - not to be fooled like this.

Most of the time when I see things like that I make a smart a** comeback to insult them. I play a lot of cs:go so I get these all the time :)
