I have noticed every mission (as far as I remember) has been set in the night. Now I've seen lots of gameplay where players playing the same mission are doing so in the day. Is this random and I'm unlucky or can I change it?

Thank you!

That is odd.

All my games have been played in the day. I have not seen a night with Crusader 2, yet (well, inside the game I mean  ).

I had thought, night was disabled for the time beeing. Perhaps it is a very odd bug at your end.

Can you post a screenshot?

What time of day (in real life) did you play these missions? Was it around night?

Maybe it could detect the time of day you're playing and set that.

It most certainly does occur Nigel, it has happened to me a lot I occasionally play a day time match but not often.

I think Chris has the answer, I just played at 5:12pm and it was day so I'm assuming if I were to play around 8pm it would be night. I'll try this and let you all know :)

@@Nigel: I removed your post, it would have been easier to have just edited it and told me where you wanted it moving to though and I'd have moved it for you.

Keep us updated Mathew ;)

what :O

That is a surprise. I would love to pay a SHC2 game in a night setting.

What time did you play the missions? And also, what timezone do you live in?

We're from the United Kingdom, the same default time zone as the site - currently 10:16 AM.

But time zones should make no difference - any bet it takes it from your computer time.

Well actually now I'm not sure. I have been playing the last hour and some games were set in the day some in the night. I honestly don't know the answer but it is annoying me a lot.

I'm sure I've made a topic about this before but I can't find that topic and the problem seems to have not been fixed anyway.

So whenever I play a game of Crusader II, it is set in night time. No matter what time of day it is, this still occurs. I haven't seen anyone else play in the night so I'm wondering why this only happens to me. Does anyone else have this or is it just me?

It isn't a huge problem but playing in the same depressing darkness can get tiring after a while.

All help appreciated,

Tom

Maybe it is not night as night, maybe it's just something about graphics? I mean, maybe whole picture is darker, so it looks like it's night? I do realize this is most likely pretty stupid suggestion though :D , and I believe that it's more likely to be something else.

Still, I will try to see some stuff in my game this evening - after I get some my work done. :)

Finally! The problem is solved. EaglePrince had the answer. I must've accidentally disabled dynamic lighting when lowering graphics to increase my FPS. Thank you all, hopefully this helped you. But either way, now you know how to play in the dark :P

This is interesting.

I must try out some night battles now. Curious to see what that is like

Still, it's nothing compared to Stronghold 3 night battles... :P Right now I have won a campaign mission where I had to capture a castle during the night; so I was moving through areas further from the castle, and I was avoiding file in the wood near which I would be spotted. :) In fact, it is just like Stronghold with fog of war with exception that you can see enemy buildings - only you can't see troops. But, I do realize this is not the subject now, I am glad to know that we are able to play Crusader 2 in night mode even though there is no option called that way.

I know the mission you mean. I really liked it, although I thought I would struggle with it since I'm not a great attacker but more of a defender :)

Yes, I also tought it would be harder, but it was much easier then I expectet. I guess one should be able to win it even without going around, but either way, it is important to attack silently, from the dark. This does make it possible for us to make interesting war scenarios!
