Possible New Award?

I don't know if there is already an award for this (if so I want mind :cool: ) would it be a good idea to have awards for multiplayer event wins? Or if not, have stats on the user's profile to how many games have been won and lost.

It would be a good idea, but it would require me (or another admin - not very likely) to manually keep the total - because multiplayer is not hosted on our server.

 

Though a medal for wins would be a good idea - but like the attended X multiplayer events, I would have to manually add it.

That does sound interesting, but I am worried about one thing there...

 

I am sure that all of us here are fair players, and that we play for fun here, but I am worried how would that effect some of us. Those prizes can sometimes also bring some negative effects, and while some would come playing for fun, some could come to play for winning. We all play to win, of course, but when that becomes the only goal, we rick to ruin the fun.

 

ADDITION: For example, I would like to have a tag "Stronghold Crusader champion", but we should be playing for fun, not for prizes. Maybe I'm wrong, and I could be just worried too much.

That is true. But I'm sure not everyone will be like that. Maybe if it showed only multiplayer wins, that way people won't feel as if they need to compete to keep a high average win/loss ratio.

Maybe could have a thread where you get a custom title, not a custom title for the site, just for the multi players in a thread.

 

The titles could be the same as for the site, the more games you win the higher your title.

 

We could start with Serf or higher.

That's not possible to give s custom title for an individual thread, it's site-wide or not at all.

Personally I think the idea of a medal as an award for wins is the best option if any. But of course this means a moderator will have to participate in each game to assure the winner has actually won.

No need for that either! The winner could save the screenshot of his victory screen... I'm not sure how that works at Stronghold 2, but it is possible for Stronghold Crusader. One could save the scores screen, and there one could easily see when did each player die. :) I mean, I'm not sure if such a screen exists in Stronghold 2, and if it possible to save a screenshot of it... If not, your can save the screenshot of your troops killing the enemy. But what is the most relevant is what other participants say. :)

Well it's up to chris. The idea of course will require putting a lot of trust in all the members to be honest.

The idea of making it competitive like that will change the game play!

 

What I was trying to say, make a thread for the multi player games, for each player they would have their name listed in the first post, beside their name would be their rank, as the rank goes up a mod will make the changes in the first post. your ranks would be posted in the first post, after a game the winner would come into the thread and post their win, then a mod would make the change in the first post, any conflict and the other players will have a chance to say so.

 

There could be a thread for each of the games.

That would not be to hard, but there are only a few players playing multiplayer online games.

 

Chris and me are the ones who would make the thread and change it as the scores come in, I would not have a problem doing it for you guys.

 

As far as that goes, you guys could start a thread and maintain it yourselves, check with Chris first.

Now I fully understand. And that's fine by me. There is no edit time limit for members, only new members, so you can edit any post of yours unless it's in a closed thread.
