Firewall seems like the most likely cause here. I host many servers for different games with the firewall on but every so often I have to turn it off as it randomly blocks ports at times. So as Lord_Chris suggested, test your game with the firewall off, no harm should be done in 10 minutes assuming you only go on Gameranger.

I may be going over already stated theories but here's these: Same game ranger version Same stronghold version Low ping That's all the simple ones im not too familiar with game ranger so im sure the other members could help with some other ideas :) hope you fix it!

1.4.1 is the most updated version for Stronghold 2 :)

You have a very professional setup it seems, well thought out. Being 15 it isn't as easy to get such a setup but once possible (in a few years) I'll most likely do the same as you :) Mine isn't technically a set up but I recently got the desk and the chair. My laptop may seem small and feeble but it can run nearly all the games I play on Medium to High! And of course as it's Christmas, it needed to be accompanied by a Terry's Chocolate Orange (dark chocolate for me :D ) I've never been bothered much on dual monitors but my graphics card and quad core CPU should be able to handle another one if needed ;)

Thought so just making sure you were aware in case there was an easy fix. Im happy to wait, it seems to be slightly quicker today either way :)

Recently I've noticed the site has been responding quite slowly and I'm curious to know why. My internet and PC are good enough to load pages quick enough so I'm assuming it's something to do with the site itself. It takes about 15 seconds longer than usual. Any idea why? Also this wasn't an angry post, just letting you know something isn't right :)

By stone I didn't mean the resource, I meant the land textures, it might be called rocks if I'm mistaken, my apologies.

Looking good Micha! I like the pier on the right side of the island, also the trees near the mountain is a nice little touch. If you don't know how else to make the map look more "realistic" if you'd like, here are some tips: Feather oasis-placing a border of feathers around a solid oasis can easily make it look more alive Stones-if parts of the island look bare and plain, lowering the brush intensity and scattering stones around the land bring out different textures in the land Brush Intensity-like stated above, brush intensity is useful and experimenting with it can do various things to your map Good luck with the rest of the map, looking forward to some more updates :)

This is my first Christmas here since joining SHN and I have to say my time here so far has been amazing. I've met a load of new people since joining, all of which have been friendly, helpful and polite. It's been great to share my love of the Stronghold franchise with people who like it just as much as me without being judged or laughed at. I have been annoying at times (PM's specifically) but everyone has given me the benefit of doubt and forgotten about all that. I'd especially like to thank @Lord_Chris for doing a great job with the website itself and adding loads of new features to keep everything in order and entertaining. As well as Lord_Chris, I'd like to thank all the staff and members for making the SHN community a great place to be. But most of all, I'd like to wish everybody, a very Merry Christmas! I like the mountains and the idea of the map so far. Of course there isn't much I can say as we've only been provided with 1 screenshot, but I'm sure there will be more to come :)

I actually started with SH2. I remember it so clearly. My mother recently got a new laptop (intel Pentium processor -.-) and I decided to buy a game to play on it. Went to the shop, looked at the choices (and with my love for castles) I saw a castle themed game, known as, the beautiful, Stronghold 2. Ahh those were the days :D I too own all of the games! Except for Legends and Kingdoms, they've never appealed to me.

It's been a while since I looked at this topic but to see all the improvements over my vacancy it's a great thing to see. The map looks great (the screenshots have been well thought out), it looks like both of you have been putting a lot of effort into creating this fine map :)

I am very glad to see you've found a way to do so. Map looks great, I'll be sure to play it once I have some more spare time. I haven't been in the mood for Stronghold recently, which is sad to say, I haven't uninstalled the game and I have no intention of doing so. I think I may have played it so much that I've just had enough for a while :)

Problem seems to have fixed itself. I decided to try again before changing my DNS settings and it worked. I'm assuming it was a problem with BT as my friend was also noticing problems yesterday. Thank you for the help all :)

I am creating this topic on my iPhone (you will see why in the next paragraphs). My laptop suddenly won't connect to any other page besides my router config and MSN homepage which is the default. This is happened all of a sudden as I made a topic on the site earlier. The problem occurs on Chrome as well as IE. My laptop has been scanned for malware with 2 different softwares and is clear. I pinged Google.com and got 100% loss packages. Every so often it will ping successfully but as soon as I attempt to visit the page it will happen again. I can use wifi for other things such as skype or multiplayer games also. Im not usually one to get stuck on such things but im all out of ideas. I won't be able to make any changes until tomorrow. Right now the only thing I can think of is DNS. I use google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) perhaps there is a problem with those at the moment. Until tomorrow I won't know. All help is appreciated :)

First of all I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic but here we go :D I won't be as active as usual, especially when it comes to gaming events. I feel I should apologise and explain the reason, it isn't difficult, it's just schoolwork. I'm now doing GCSE's (which is a very important year of school) and I really want to do well. So apologies for the inactivity. My map will be delayed for this but I will work on it, when I have time :) Thank you for reading :)

At the top left of your screen while in the index, you will see "StrongholdNation Home". Below this is your username, below that is your last visit, and below that is your PM inbox usage bar. This might just be on my screen and it might just be a one time thing, but where it usually shows a percentage and below it some writing, it isn't there. I am unsure to whether you removed it purposely or not, what's happened to it?
