I know the mission you mean. I really liked it, although I thought I would struggle with it since I'm not a great attacker but more of a defender :)

Finally! The problem is solved. EaglePrince had the answer. I must've accidentally disabled dynamic lighting when lowering graphics to increase my FPS. Thank you all, hopefully this helped you. But either way, now you know how to play in the dark :P

I'm sure I've made a topic about this before but I can't find that topic and the problem seems to have not been fixed anyway. So whenever I play a game of Crusader II, it is set in night time. No matter what time of day it is, this still occurs. I haven't seen anyone else play in the night so I'm wondering why this only happens to me. Does anyone else have this or is it just me? It isn't a huge problem but playing in the same depressing darkness can get tiring after a while. All help appreciated, Tom

Today I had one of my crazy thoughts and it was to do with how technology has advanced, even since I was born. From Atari to Xbox/PS, from Crusader to Crusader II. Much has changed over such a short period of time. It makes me wonder how much it will advance in the future and what new technology will be available. What are your thoughts on the way technology has advanced? Is it good or is it bad? The one thing that crosses my mind is, will I be able to say the same thing to my children, that I'm sure every parent has said to theirs at some point in time, which is "we never had that when I was your age."

I wanted to make this map using the smallest map size, I feel it really tests my map making abilities and I managed to make a quick fun map within 20 minutes. I feel the map is well designed for such a small map. Using a river and some mountains I managed to make a neat map. At first I thought of the name "Encaged" as you are closed in and there is nowhere to go. But after writing the story, I decided to change it to "The Contract". The map has been submitted and is awaiting upload. I'll leave a link in this post once it's done :) Story: A local Lord has requested your service. He wants you to require some goods for him, in return he promises to build a bridge across the river, allowing you to leave the island. The contract will only last for a certain amount of days and so you must be quick!

My Stronghold Crusader Let's play Video
Mathew Steel replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Changing your video type to a .mwv significantly lowers file size. Recording a 20+ minute videos leaves me with the FRAPS file of over 20GB. After rendering it while changing it to a .wmv using Sony Vegas Pro 11 the file size lowers to less than a GB! It's crazy. -
Hi Aleks welcome to the forums. That's a good first impression, I found myself giggling all through that :D hope you enjoy your time at Stronghold Nation. Be sure to check out the gaming events and the downloads section. I'm sure the other members will be along soon to welcome you. Best regards, Tom

I'm not sure. There might be but I usually crop my videos before uploading so I've never looked. I'll keep an eye out next time :) -

My bad, I accidentally clicked submit on that reply before uploading the map. I thought I'd try and be clever and write it ahead, obviously it's backfired :D Edit: I've submitted the map :) -

I watched a bit of the video (I skipped a bit as I don't have much time right now) it's good :) you used a pretty good tactic in order to attack. Just a little advice, you might want to edit the video to crop out the start. So the video starts with you just about to place a stockpile or not far from there. But other than that, nice video :) -

Map in progress: "A Lord in a Canyon"
Mathew Steel replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Thanks to the help of @Lord Vetka I have finally completed the map. Awaiting for it to be accepted to the download area. I decided to make a trailer instead of using screenshots as I feel it shows the map off even better. Here it is- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICkMvIu8KYQ&feature=youtu.be -
I've had some positive feedback on my stories for different maps recently and I'm glad to hear it as I really enjoy writing different backgrounds for different plots. So if you want a background or storyline or even map idea, and you are otherwise occupied to do so, I'm here to help. Simply reply using this template: Map Name- Story requirements (if any)- Story length (Short, Medium, Long)- Here is an example: Map Name- A Lord in a Canyon Story requirements- Includes the Lord himself. Mentions an ally. Mentions enemy forts. Explains the objective. Story length- Medium Feel free to leave any additional information :)

Glad you've got what you wanted :) As for castle sizes I think it would depend on how many enemy castles would exist. I'd say 3 is a reasonable amount. 1 small (1-2 towers and thin walls) 1 medium (1 small tower, 1 medium tower, thick walls) 1 large (1 big tower, 2 small towers, thick walls, more troops) That's just an idea :) -
Map in progress: "A Lord in a Canyon"
Mathew Steel replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Well I've managed to get them moving. They'll attack me if my troops are near. But for some reason, they run towards the path marker but then run straight pass it! I can't figure out where they'd be heading? They run to the end of the canyon then get killed by ally troops. I don't understand why. -

Hi Vetka, I managed to sort out the camera option, it's a nice touch :) I decided to download your map "Arvand" to see how you have done the invasions. You have set an entry point and target point using blue markers. Then I see there is a path marker next to the keep. I'm assuming all invasions will follow the same route? If this is true, how would one set different paths for different invasions? Also if I'd like to make it so the enemy invasion chases my lord how would I do so? I know you gave me a tutorial yesterday but I cant quite figure out where to start or what to do. Again thank you for all the help :) -
Ahh I see. Is there anything that can be done as a long term solution to the server traffic? I'm just curious.

Since the maintenance brake yesterday, the site seems to be loading a lot quicker. Is this a coincidence or did you change some things? :)
