Why does everyone in the world seem so angry?
Mathew Steel replied to Strife's topic in The Open Castle Inn
If you have an interest in the world's history and different wonders or buildings, you'd love his channel. It's very concise and informative :) I tend to not give my opinions anymore. I study sociology, and hence have to be unbiased (haha ;)). I do agree with a lot of what you said about critical thinking, however, I do feel like some of your points had little substance to them. Although, I don't live in the US, so maybe what I see in the UK is actually quite different to that of the US, even though we have the same sort of values and norms within our societies! That's not to say I don't have an opinion. I just feel it's best to keep that to myself. Or at least here. I'm not sure how thick skinned everyone is, and I've been told I can be quite forward and straight to the point when it comes to something I'm quite passionate about. -

That is very interesting, Eagle. Thank you for the addition! :) Also, Crusader, do you mean the past tense/participle is "hung" not the plural? :P -

Not everybody that voted for Trump are bigots, but all the bigots voted for Trump. Not everybody that voted Hillary are feminists, but all the feminists voted for Hillary. Let's be honest, neither candidates were great, or even decent options. On one hand you have people voting Trump because he promises all these huge changes, whilst a lot of them are unlikely to ever be made, and on the other hand, you have people voting for Hillary simply because she's a woman and this apparently equals "progression" (because we live in such patriarchal societies, right?).? No, the world is not divided, however, to believe we are as united as we once were is plain ignorance. I am with you that people need to stop getting upset over nothing, and yes, I agree that it is the liberals that are the ones getting upset over nothing, although, not all liberals. To say the liberals are the only ones getting offended by nothing, is just as stupid as saying all Trump supporters are racist. EDIT: I thought this video might better some relations during this time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abwc7AAXn3A? Also, everything is going to be fine! Strife, I just realised this seemed like I was calling you out on things, my apologies. I meant all of the above in a "general-speaking" sense! :) -

I have to ask, excuse my ignorance, what's the significance of the flag at half mast? Google couldn't help me...Thank you!?:) -

I don't know what your political stance was, but I do hope you're doing well! I feel like the US has been divided by the result. I personally, have stayed out of the US election, this one in particular was too controversial for me to post any opinion. Again, hope you're well! -
Not entirely. The CPU still needs to tell the GPU what to do, and it will not be able to do so to the GPU's full potential if it is a bottleneck. The GPU will still perform better than an old GPU, yes. But not to its full potential and not its full performance. However, resolution is very dependent on the GPU, meaning turning the resolution up will certainly make use of the GPU more, even if there is a CPU bottleneck! Hopefully I explained this clearly :)
-
You said your CPU wasn't that powerful. If you turn the resolution up, so higher, it puts more load on the GPU instead. This tends to boost performance in cases where CPU bottlenecks are present :)
-
There are definitely worse ones you could have bought! I mean, if the games you play are mostly strategy sky-view games, then that should do nicely. If your CPU is lacking, and you do notice FPS drops, just up the resolution :) Glad to hear your gaming experience is improving! :D
-
That is great news! Could I ask, what GPU did you purchase? :)
-
Awesome to hear that you're all doing well! I'm glad.? EaglePrince, your English is fine :D?I believe you meant "better for you". Don't bear yourself up, your English is better than that of thousands of the British population! :P
-
Things are a lot better than they were! Definitely looking up from here. Glad to hear you're okay!

Recently, I've been fairly busy with school and work and family! I haven't been active on the forums much. However, I still take an interest and occasionally read a few threads. I simply want to know, how are you? :)
-
I appreciate it Nigel, I'm sure the family does too. I'm glad my message has gotten through.
-
Thank you for the kind words, Chris. I appreciate it.

I am very touched by your words, Crusader. Really I am. I will remember your words.

I didn't expect to be making a post like this, ever. I'd like to point out first this isn't a sympathy seeking post. This post is to get a message across. Yesterday evening, a friend of mine who I've known since I was about 4 years old, was hit by a motorcycle on a road. This morning he was announced brain dead. This friend of mine is 16 years old. The news has distraught friends and family. Friends of mine witnessed the incident and are traumatised. Nobody in a million years could have seen this coming.? My message to you all. Is to make the most of your life. My friend lived his short life to the fullest. He went to some amazing places, Rome, Paris, Florida. He did so much for the school, attending competitions, earning awards, being a good student. He was confident, happy, intelligent and understanding. And in his short life, he made a big impact on the people that knew him, especially me. Friends, I ask you to be kind to each other. Be understanding of why people behave the way they do. Tell the people that are important to you how much they mean to you every now and then, because you never know what's around the corner. Make the most of the opportunities you have. This doesn't mean take risks, it means to take chances. Make an impact, a positive one, it's not hard to do, just be kind and understanding.? I plan on doing some fund raising at some point, to help the family. I'll ask Chris about that before posting anything on the site. But if any of you would like to donate, and I totally understand if you don't want to, or can't, or anything. I respect that, it's a big ask to give money to people you don't know and I appreciate that. But I'd like to give you all the option to help. Again, I'll speak to Chris before making any sort of post on the site. Thank you.

I did think about that and I imagined it would play out similar to the map Volcano. But then again, it is designed for 2v2 :)
-
Edited :)?thanks for the kind words!
-
I've worked on this map for about 4 hours in total and I have to say I am very pleased with the outcome.? My aim was to make an unbalanced yet fair map. Each estate has its own advantages and teamwork is vital to your success. There are also 3 estates south of the map that will be very useful when it comes to controlling the play of the game.? I've submitted the map and it is awaiting verification. Enjoy some screenshots!

It doesn't matter how you learn to play different songs. As long as you can play :) Of course, being able to pick up a sheet and play it perfectly is amazing. But it isn't something that many can do! An update from me, I've finished learning "She's Always a Woman" and it's absolutely amazing. I'm currently learning "Somebody Else" by The 1975. It's a quieter version. Not so upbeat. It's slower and sadder to an extent. If you haven't heard the song, you should give it a listen!
