And this is the type being used in my country! :) (and many others) I am interested to know, how is it possible that one gets shocked when stepped on the plug? :| I assume that those plugs you showed are the ones which goes "into the wall", so when it is out there is no electricity, right? The electricity stays "in the wall", or if you have this thing (of which I don't know the name in English): the electricity still stays "in there". Still, stepping on that badass would be less pleasant then stepping on Lego. :D -
I just meant to drop few more words here. If anyone would like to fight a war I suggested, we could fight that war. Also, if anyone has another war on his mind, we could wage that was as well! :)

Thanks, Mathew, I'm glad you like how it looks, and I hope you will enjoy playing it! For those haven't noticed yet, the map can be downloaded from SNH downloads section. Link to Forest Realm map in SHN Downloads Section

I was taking care that each estate has similar size - it is about 6 large squares in the editor... Still, I didn't want to have everything in squares, rectangles, and triangles, so I made those borders a little bit more curved and natural. Regarding resources, I was putting stone and iron into bars of same length - iron is in 2x10 bars (or rectangles). This may not seem much natural, but I believe this will make players easier to use maximum of those resources. I do realize though that those starting territories are not as large as on Bradley's map, but on the other hand - we wouldn't like to play same maps over and over again. :) Also, I shall see yet about making another version of the map more suitable for 2v2 matches... Perhaps having only two cloth villages would be the best - one in the north, as it is, and on in the south; those two in south-west and south-east would be removed in that version. If we do find that needed, of course!

Just to drop it here... After some thinking - I would be grateful if someone new a way of making the minimap of a Stronghold 2 map without a third party program such as Fraps, but still - it is a small program, it's free, so there is a solution. To be more precise, it is free for those who don't want to make videos longer then 30 seconds, and I need it for screenshots. Regarding the minimap, I have managed to make minimaps like this: The second one is from map editor, while the other one was created out of two screenshots from kingmaker menu. To be more precise, I put myself to the west, and took the screenshot, and I put myself to east, and took again the screenshot. Then I copied left half of one minimap over the left part of the other, and that is how I got a minimap with no territory marked with red. This can easily be done with Gimp.

Link to Forest Realm map in SHN Downloads Section Hello guys! These days I've been only talking about creating some new Stronghold 2 map, or maps, but this one of my ideas came to reality! I came to an idea such as this one some time ago, when I saw three men's land by Bradley. My idea for to make a map which would be an eye candy, but still as balanced. The map I am presenting you now is called Forest Realm, and I am going to upload it today. Before I do that, I am making this tread, as I plan to make some other versions of this map as well. Let me show you the minimap and some screenshots from this version of the map map! This map was intended for singleplayer and multiplayer games, while in multiplayer - it is the best if there are three or six players, because of the villages which produce cloth. If four players played this map, one side would have one more village then the other, but still - it is a small village after all. Nevertheless, I do plan to make another version of the map in which in which I would put four villages producing cloth, and this map would be more suitable for 2v2 matches. ...or I would make it with only two cloth producing villages - as there can be maximum 16 territories, and I also have the neutral one. I am going to submit the map into our Downloads Central, so you could try it. @Lord Vetka, my master, I hope I did a good job? :)

I did try that too. Only when I PRINT SCREEN, and paste it into PAINT, or any other image editing programs, it copies the white rectangular image - not the screenshot. So PRINT SCREEN doesn't work for me. On the other hand, ALT+Q does work in game and in the editor, but it doesn't work while I am in the menu - including the page where I choose kingmaker maps and the page with map overview from map editor. It works only when I am actually editing the map, or when I actually play the game. ADDITION: Does PRINT SCREEN and PASTE into PAINT or another graphics editing programs for you? SECOND ADDITION: I made to do it using Fraps! The thing was that I didn't want to install any third party program, as this PC is not much powerful. I was recording those Crusader 2 games using Bandicam, but it seems a little bit more demanding. Fraps seems to be pretty light weight application - only few MB, and it pretty basic, just what I needed. Still, if there is a way to do this without help of some third party programs, I would be happy to know. :)

I have tried it now, but it doesn't seem to work to me. It just minimizes the game, and when I alt-tab again it goes back into the game - full screen mode. I have 1.4.1 Stronghold 2 version, it I am running Windows 7 operating system.

I am sorry if there is an article about this, or if someone asked this same question before. It's just I haven't found something like that, so I'm asking. :) How can one create a minimap of Stronghold 2 map? I have created one Stronghold 2 map this evening, and I am having problems with this one... I will try some stuff, such as starting a game, and making a screenshot at the very beginning, but I would like to have the minimap just the way it looks like in map editor - when one can see types of villages, and the layout of the map as well - mountains, rives, etc... Is that possible to do with stuff I already have, or I need to use some third party program? Thanks! PS: I will show you the map as well. :) I tried making it like I would create some magnificent new map, but it ended like "it's something". :D Mostly because I forgot that I get add maximum 16 estates - no more, and I imagined map with at least 18 estates, but I had 24 estates in my mind. :) Addition: So, this is the minimap, although I am not much satisfied how it looks... One cannot see which are castle estates here, and there is this rectangular. I know how I could remove rectangular, and I could mark those castles estates, but I am wondering if there is any faster way - other then using too much graphics manipulation programs, or some third party programs such as bandicam.

AMD 7730m Graphics Glitch - Reign of Kings
EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Computer Support
Well, I assume that you did try to do all those standard stuff which are up to you, such as setting compatibility, and stuff like that. Perhaps reinstalling the graphic card driver could help, but somehow it seems to me like is more something because of the game itself. -
It is still on! If there is anyone who would like to join me on my Crusades, we shall set sail to Holy Land.

EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Computer Support
Maybe, but he has always been ready to help us, and even though he is no longer a moderator at Stronghold Heaven, he comes now and then to offer us a peace of advice when we are in trouble. :) This is why I think that, even if he was rude, the least thing he deserves is a second chance. :) And tenth chance as well! :D Nevertheless, his last message there was pretty short, so it is even possible that he may had been in a rush while writing the message, or something like that. ;) -

EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Computer Support
I have just read the treat at Stronghold Heaven. Please, do forgive PCDania, although I am not sure if he was rude at all. :) In a way he felt the same way as I did - it is an alpha, so it's not even beta yet. It was expected to face some bugs, but unfortunately the bug you faced is the one because of which you cannot play at all. The only thing that I am wondering right now is - why do they sell a game which is still alpha... I realize this might not seem like the best advice, but as this most possibly doesn't have anything to do with your laptop or anything related to that, it could be the best to put the game away for a while, until they release a new patch which fixes this issue. I am certain you're not the only one. There were similar issues with Crusader 2 as well! Many were complaining about an issue with start screen - it wasn't displayed properly, so players were not able to play it until the new patch was released. They waited one day for the patch, or so, if I remember correctly... -
AMD 7730m Graphics Glitch - Reign of Kings
EaglePrince replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Computer Support
If I got this right, this might be a game that is still in development? Is there some way of contacting the developers of the game? Perhaps it is something that needs to be fixed regarding the game itself, something that one of us couldn't do on his own? I don't mean to sound like pushing you away with this, it's only that I cannot come up with any possible solution, and I am starting to think that this might be something that the developers should deal with. :( I hope I am wrong, and that there is an easy solution. :) -
Well, as soon as you are able to play, you just make an event, and hopefully we would all be able to play. :)
-
I have played that map too, and it was with you guys. I think it was once or twice. It is also a good map, only I prefer three mans land, because it is more open. Nevertheless, both maps are great, and I would gladly play on any of those two. Actually I think we didn't mention playing another game, but I think that we should! I would gladly march into another war, to avenge my lords death! By the way, I like how you made the Downloads section now, it looks way better now, and it completely fits with the rest of the website. Thumbs up!

Well, considering how much gold and weapons you say you had, we can say that it was justified that we were attacking you almost all the time. :) I mean, if we stopped out attacks for a little while, you would come back to power, and everything would be just as it was before. Also, now I am getting one more thing - if I want to cripple an opponent, it is not sufficient only to destroy his economy in the villages - it is necessary to destroy armory as well, if it is possible, and destroying he granary would be welcome as well. :) Only I believe that it would be even more interesting game - especially for you, if Mathew and I were spending some more time looking at each other. This way I wasn't looking carefully to that front, which I should have. If I was looking a little bit more carefully, I would be able to send less troops on you, but my castle would be safer, and it would be more interesting to you as well. One more thing I will have to do is to build the wall around my entire estate. I am sure that next time it will be more fun! I also meant to say that I am glad that we were playing this map, which is more open. It is more interesting to me this way. Perhaps we could create a similar 4-player or 6-player map which would be an open such as this one. I mean, an enemy is able to attack your castle from all directions, while you can have the villages all around you. One more thing could have been done with this map... It make some villages to produce some specific goods, such as stone, iron, cloth, candles, etc... This would be pretty interesting, as when one buys a village, he gets all the iron, stone, or any other goods as well - instantly! Only he would need to transport it. Also, if it would be a six player map, each player would have his own iron village, his own stone village, etc... What do you think about this idea?

Today we fought another one, and I felt like I should say few words about it as well. We were playing Three mans land map by Bradley - it was Chris, Mathew, and me. Chris started pretty well, and he was the most powerful. I started better then I normally would - I am still getting better in Stronghold 2, as all my games in past were against AI lords; and Mathew started pretty well too, although he was a little bit slower. I'm only not sure if this was his tactic, because I am sure that he was able to get promoted to Duke, but he didn't want to - to buy himself some more time. Chris said he wouldn't attack anyone until someone attacks him, so I decided to take my move first. I attacked him crossing the bridge that was within the range of one of his towers. I was trying to take down the tower as well, but no success there. He had plenty of resources, and he was repairing the tower, and he came with group of his knights. By the time he fortified that part of the castle even better, so I decided to retreat. Then I decided not to attack his castle, I decided to do something less challenging. I decided to raid his villages, and this way to weaken him. For this reason I again attacked the same village, but this time I crossed another bridge, and I took down some of his stone buildings which he built for fortify the entrance to the village. I defeated his army there easily, but then we were engaged in more serious battles. I send some of my knights forward to raid the village - he had lots of fletchers workshops in the village, so Chrises knights reacted. Then I moved my knight back closer to my crossbowmen, so I could fight with their support. I won that battle, and after that I took over the village. He was trying to retake it, but he failed. Then I fortified the village, removed the fletchers workshops, as I didn't want Chris to retake them, and I brought some more knight to join the battle. I sent those knight into the next village, and in front of the castle to destroy Chrises economy. I felt like I was winning the war. During those battles Mathew wasn't attacking me much, he was also attacking Chris, although he was sending some burning carts to destroy some of my buildings. In the moment I was in front of Chrises castle I saw a group of Mathew's knight riding into my country, although I didn't count them as a large treat. I should have... Mathew noticed that my church was outside my castle, and my lord was walking to the church. This way he managed to intercept my lord outside my castle, and he killed him. Now I know - never feel too confident, always protect all my borders, and - build the church within my castle walls. After my lords death Chris and Mathew continued the war. Chris was trying to get back on his feet, to get back his old territories, and those that were mine, but it turned out it was too late. His castle was damaged, and his economy was crippled. Despite this hard situation, he was resisting really well, he still had his troops, he had weapons, honor, and gold - I just don't know how much gold and weapons exactly. Still, all this wasn't enough to repel Mathews attacks. Lord Chris fell as well. It was a great and an exciting war!
-
I agree with Chris on this! After our game today we spent few more minutes about this, and I agree this way we would have more fun. So, just to add this - this is for free for all games, or for games with three or more teams. Also one can attack one specific player as long as he has a specific reason for this, just as, taking over one of the villages where lie some valuable resources, or something like that. Also, one may want to push away his opponent further from his castle... We only want to avoid situations where all players attack one, because this one is the most powerful lord in the game, or because he simply wants to put down this specific lord.

I meant to say the same thing as Mathew, and I wrote it, but it appears that I didn't hit the "submit" button. :D

This indeed sounds like a great battle! I enjoyed reading the story! Mathew may have lost one battle, but the war is far from over. You two are going to meet again, but this time one more lord is riding towards you - I am coming as well. I am hoping that the next one will be even more exciting, and I am suggesting us to play a free for all game. What I learned from playing this type of game from Crusader 1 and Stronghold 1, but from Age of Empires 3 as well, is that in free for all games it is less likely the most powerful lord to win the day. Of course, he does have advantage, but I believe in victory! :)
-
That sounds great! Count me in. :)

I am glad to see you would like to play Stronghold 2. Did you play the game today? If not, we could meet on the battlefield tomorrow - similar time!

Mod for Stronghold Crusader 2: Templars Nightmare
EaglePrince replied to TheBlackGrouse's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Like I said at Steam Discussions, I really like how it sounds. I am not sure if I am going to be able to try it soon, but this sounds just what players were asking for - to have a harder difficulty level.
