  1. I just coming back here, as the new season of Game of Thrones is on the TV. I realize that there are many fans of the series (and the books, but I haven't found time to read them), so I just wanted to let you know the following. If there is any character that you like, and whose face you would like to use in Crusader, all you need is to tell. Also, if there is a specific image you would like to be used, you can show it here to me. :) I believe that I will be creating some of them on my own too, but if there is something you would like to get, just tell, as there are lots of interesting characters. :)
  2. I'm just joking, but I found an opportunity to use this meme, and I couldn't miss it. :D
  3. Sorry to hear that. Still, I do have to say that you have brought it close to perfection. :) Of course, there are things which you would like to do some time, but from perspective of a player, it is a great mod already, and one wouldn't change a thing there right now. :) Thanks you for bringing us this mod! :)
  4. This sounds pretty good, looking forward to pay another visit to that castle. :) PS: I hope this time you will have some more of "less useful" troops. By this I mean on troops such as spearmen, macemen, etc... which are not much strong, but which are pretty useful when trying to confront small enemy troops outside the castle. Those small battles were interesting in out last siege, I hope to see more of them. :)
  5. Lord Stronghold only wanted to remind us about this matter, and indeed there is a possibility that someone wanted to do something with that, and that he didn't find the time back then. There is me for example, I still have something to do for Stronghold Europe, the Crusader mod which I really like, but I just can't back together with myself these days. :| On the other hand, there are moments I give a rest, and I could spend that time doing something good for the community. :)
  6. I have noticed this problem with Stronghold Crusader Extreme HD (same applies to Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD), and I managed to solve the issue. Luckily I had two PC's, and on one of them I didn't have this issue. PROBLEM WITH NO PICTURE, BUT SOUND ON If you have a graphic card which allows you to have larger resolution than your monitor does, you will have a problem - you will hear the sound, but you will only see the black screen. In my case I was able to see the black screen and a message from my monitor which said "out of range". I assume that this meant that resolution got set to higher than my monitor could display. SOLUTION: I downloads Crusader and Crusader Extreme on another computer which doesn't have this issue. It also set resolution to highest possible, but not too high like it was the case on the first PC. Then I changed the resolution to 1024x768, I let Steam upload the new settings to the cloud, and then I ran the game from my first PC. It downloaded the new settings from the cloud, and everything worked well then.
  7. Well, you are right, in cases when the wall has too many edges I think... Then the siege tower needs to be attached to a straight wall segment. But when the wall is straight like it was the case with mine - my castle was rectangular, siege tower should easy attach to wall when all buildings are clear. Anyway, even if it is possible to attach siege tower when there is a building nearby, I can say for sure that you will more easily attach it when those building are destroyed. :)
  8. I agree, although we could allow throwing cows into the castle walls, but we don't have to. It is indeed more interesting like this, then having cows thrown all over the map. :) Regarding the siege towers, I do know about that issue, but I didn't want to tell you while we were fighting. :) You need to send few more troops in front of the siege towers, so they could bring down any buildings near the wall, otherwise siege towers won't attack to the walls. I was expecting your knights to do the job, and so I was waiting for you on my walls and with pikemen and spearmen. :) I have found out about this playing Crusader skirmish maps, as I also like attacking with siege towers, and those allow you to put down the opponent with troops and less effort. When I was attacking Saladin one time same happened to me, and then I realized I need to destroy the buildings, although those were houses, not farms, so it was easier to conclude. Later I saw that same apply to farms neat castle walls. Btw, I think that you are able to attach the tower to a gatehouse as well. :)
  9. I am one of those who has always been in struggle with this - router and modem... Thanks for telling the difference. Still, I do have a question. :) I have only one device in my room from which I get internet - I can connect two PC's (or laptops) to it by cable, I can connect two of those devices for watching TV (IPTV that is I think), and I can also turn on my own wireless network though it (correct me if I am wrong in anything). Does that mean that in this "router" I have two devices in fact: router and modem, or the modem is somewhere further? :)
  10. So I just came back to say that the two of us played our game. First we tested his map The Round Table V which shall be edited a little after our game. For that reason I shall remove the link above, and the map will be downloadable as soon as Lord Banshee edits it. We also played Infinity Island map 1v1 which was pretty interesting. This time we called it even, although Lord Banshee was more successful in this war. I was the first one who tried to attack, but after that attack he drove me away, after what I lost control over my iron mines. He also besieged my castle, but I managed to survive his attacks. After I was out of iron, I decided to produce spears instead of pikes, which showed to be pretty useful in later fights. One more thing I should tell is that today we fought without throwing cows.
  11. Right now I suspect that it was because my keyboard used to be English United States International, while after this I chose English US. Maybe it's something else, but I suspect that this has something to do...
  12. Now I tried it, but it only gives description how to manage with languages: how to add new language to keyboard, how to change default language, etc... Unfortunately it says nothing about this issue when I type a combination of symbols and when I get one symbol - this is something like autocorrect, or I don't know... But it indeed has something to do with languages, I just don't get it. :what: ADDITION: So it appears that I can type normally once again. :) What exactly did I do to change that - I have no idea, but what matters is that it works now the way I want it to. Lord Chris's reply certainly did help. :)
  13. Hi, I meant to ask you if you know about this feature, as it does work on my PC, but I don't want it to. :) When I want to write " 'a " I need to press ['] [space] [a], and unless I don't press space in between I would get "?". Similar happens with some other characters. For example, I can get ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, etc... But I don't want it, I just want to get what I type. :) Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't happen when I switch to Serbian keyboard (Latin or Cyrillic). So, I would like to turn it off, but I don't know what to search for. :( It doesn't happen on my other PC. Still, even if this will happen no more after I restart this PC, it would be interesting to know how to turn on or turn off this feature. Although it bother me, it can be useful. :)
  14. Thanks! I forgot about this section at first, and I put it there where I should have... Yes, that's how it would have worked to me too, but my issue was that I wasn't able to add a new search engine, while Bing was my only search engine in IE. :) I tried it now myself, this option you describe works great. The only thing that didn't work was when you try to add a search engine from IE Gallery. Luckily, I managed to do what I wanted to do, and now we have a workaround until Microsoft doesn't fix the issue. :) I have noticed at Microsoft Community that I was not alone in this.
  15. I just meant to come by, and tell that I have solved the issue, and it turned out that is a temporary issue. I was able to wait until MS releases a new update which solves this new issue, but I solved it by uninstalling IE11, adding those search engines, and then installing IE11 again. The main issue here was the fact that I was a little inpatient, although it is the case that this feature doesn't work at the moment. :)
  16. Hi, I meant to ask if you have this same problem as I do? I have a fresh Windows 7 installed, and in Internet Explorer I have only one search provider, which is Bing. I have nothing against Bing, and I do use it, but now and then I want to use another search engine, and for that I need to go to www.google.com for example, and to search from there. The thing is that when I go to Manage add-ons, and when I go to Search Providers, I follow the bottom link Find more search engines, which leads me to this page: Because of this I decided to visit iegallery manually, but then when I click on Yahoo Search for example, and when I later click on Add to Internet Explorer, nothing happens. This is the page for Yahoo Search I mentioned for example, but same happens for any other search engine. Do you have any idea how to fix this? Internet Explorer is a good browser, but things like this let people down when they try to use it.
  17. I am opening this tread so we could discuss our rules for Stronghold 1. We have started talking about it in this tread, but we should keep that talk here. I am copying part of the text I wrote there, which regards this issue: Regarding those rules, I think we should keep it as simple as possible. I agree with what you say about maps, it is more interesting for me too, when we build smaller castles, and when we need to send some of our troops our to protect our lands. It makes it more realistic. I agree with you regarding mangonel war, it is something which should not be possible, although if there are six players, I am unsure if that is even possible to do. Because of this I think this should be an agreement which could be made by neighboring lords. The rule I have always insisted on is no portable shields. Portable shields are overpowered, and they are widely used by those "expert" Stronghold Crusader players. We could create another tread here, where we already have our rules for SHC, SH2, and SHL. Those are my suggestion: no portable shields no cow throwing outside enemy castle no mangonel war no building castle buildings outside the defined area (if the area is defined) no deliberately shooting with catapults at enemy army (with trebuchets it is allowed) The castle can only be built within the delineated area. Moat, oil and pitfalls can be placed anywhere. By the way, what do you assume by apple war? If it is fighting over territory to have more apple farms, then it is fighting for more resources which is fine by me. Regarding no cow throwing, I am saying it, because if all of us were throwing cows on enemy troops which are outside a castle - on a hill for example, then it would end up by throwing cows all over the map on each other. For example, Nigel and I wasn't throwing cows on each others troops in the previous game, but if we were, our fight over the northern territory would be slightly pointless, as we would be having a large no mans land, and Stronghold 1 maps are not large enough for that. :) There is one more reason, and that is because in real life throwing cows would work only when thrown into a castle, as this way it in a closed are it would cause a disease. On the other hand, a cow thrown into an open are would do nothing. Still, I do not insist on this, I know Charles likes throwing cows too, but I am saying my opinion. :)
  18. Someone else from Steam would be able to watch the game while not being in the game itself. Also, if one wants to watch this game I think that one doesn't even need to have the game by himself. He (or she) would only be watching a video. Lord Banshee or someone else, correct me if I am wrong. :) Of course, I do agree it would be the best if one would simply join our event so there could be more of us, which would make it more interesting. Regarding those rules, I think we should keep it as simple as possible. 19. Thanks for those images Banshee! So, here we can see Nigel attacking preparing to attack my castle with few catapults, and my paying my debt. :) You can also see Banshee's troops raiding my villagers in the south. :)
  20. Our new friend Lord Banshee came to this idea, which could promote SHN - we could stream our games. If I got it right, anyone who has a Steam version of the game is able to stream it to others, although that would require a good connection, and I don't know if that could cause lag during the game. What do you say about this option? It's not like it's a necessity, but perhaps it would do. Besides making events and letting people at Steam know, so they could join. Regarding the newest Stronghold game - Crusader 2, we could make events with only few rules which would be welcomed by one part of the community - we could make a population limit, so players wouldn't build whole industries inside their castles, and we could also limit number of trebuchets one player can have at a time, like we do in Stronghold 2. This could promote SHN some more, but we would be helping an entire community as well! After all, those two are the reason why many give up on Crusader 2 multiplayer.
  21. Another epic war we fought yesterday. :)
  22. I just came here to bring you my battle report. :) Yesterday was a good day to fight. We played Lord Banshee's map Delta, it's one more map pretty difficult for running economy, as each of us has limited space, and therefore we needed to use that space wisely. Here we were able to build some more economy buildings - I had three iron mines, three stone mines, and my castle was on low ground, so I was able to feed my people with bread, and to give them some ale. Some time later my defensive structures were taking a little bit more space, so I had to sacrifice some wheat farms, but I managed to place them on other locations, which were not easy to find. In year 1075 we started our fight. I was the first one to march into an attack, as I had some army, and I also had some gold - around 2000 gold, which was enough for building trebuchets. My plan was to attack early, and I chose to attack Lord Banshee as he was the stronger one. I did realize that this way we could let Nigel become strong, but if I spend some more resources fighting Nigel, then Banshee would attack me soon, and I would be weaker. Also, like they say - attack is the best defense. Still, I lacked few things while attacking him. I was better organized than in the previous was we fought, but that just wasn't enough. I didn't give up swordsmen, and they were easy targets for Lord Banshee's trebuchets throwing cows on my army. If I was able to build some stables it would be much different, but I was able to build only one, which wasn't enough. After I saw my attacks failed I retreated to my castle, but then Lord Banshee start raiding my villagers - he destroyed one stable I had, he was destroying my quarries, and he was destroying my houses and inns that were far from my castle walls. Nevertheless, I did manage to take back control of my lands, and to rebuild what was lost, and I did what I needed to do earlier - to send some more troops further from my castle, to defend my remote buildings. Still, from now on I had no stable, and perhaps that was one of my mistakes - I did have some more gold now, but what do I have from gold, when my army is easy target to his trebuchets. He was using macemen which were moving faster, so I wasn't able to do the same to him that effectively. Then I faced some large sieges, but somehow I managed to survive. Those were hard times, but Lord Banshee retreated at some moment, and if I got that right, he had to do that, as his popularity went low, and he had no recruits. I also had few clashes with Nigel's troops too, although those were small battles. Nigel sent some of his men to the hill in the north from my castle, and his archers were killing my villagers in the north. I did have few villagers there, but that was where I was able to get more wood, so I headed north with small group of men, where I managed to conquer the hill in the north where I was guarding it by those swordsmen and crossbowmen I sent. My battles with Lord Banshee started again, and I was giving my best to survive his attacks. My mangonels were having hard time in destroying trebuchets which were hidden behind small hills. For a short period I did have an ally in this war, but as soon as Nigel knew how to cancel the alliance, he canceled it - he just wanted to keep it a free for all war. Then I said him I will destroy him if he doesn't want to be my ally. :) All that happened after Lord Banshee told he would kill us both, and I felt like I wasn't able to stop him by myself. At least not without those knight I wasn't able to train. If he was my ally I would be able to build those stables near his castle, or inside of it, which would benefit me a lot - beside having his army by my side. As I saw I am certainly loosing the war I wanted to finish what I promised to Nigel. :) I trained around 50 swordsmen, and I knew that if I leave my castle in a mission to destroy the trebuchets - those swordsmen would surely fail, and if I don't do anything with them, they would die inside the castle. One more problem I had were leather armors - during those sieges I wasn't able to produce them, as Lord Banshee was destroying my only diary farm I was using for producing them. Unfortunately I had built it on another location which was exposed to enemy attacks. Because of this I had 30 crossbows which I wasn't able to use. At this moment I split my army into to groups: one smaller headed east to face Lord Banshee, and the other larger group headed north along with engineers. I didn't wasn't any time, as soon as engineers reached their passion they started building siege towers, and along with swordsmen they went towards Nigel's walls. Using those towers I managed to get on top of those walls with majority of my army not facing Nigel's melee troops. I killed most of his archers and crossbowmen on his walls, and as soon as I reached his gate I opened it, and I moved towards his lord. He still had some more crossbowmen that were firing at my troops, but they were unable to stop my troops. I have paid my debt to Nigel, for not joining my side. :) I would also need to tell that Nigel was the one who fought most honorably! He is the one who stood with his men in front of his castle, just like we could have seen in Troy, but I was the one who attacked by surprise, who didn't face his troops, and who's goal was to kill Nigel's lord, while he didn't run with his lord, and he faced my troops on his keep. I wasn't the only one who paid his debt; Lord Banshee has revenged his lords death from the previous war. My lord left the castle in company of few swordsmen and crossbowmen. Then he ran with his macemen with support from trebuchets throwing cows, and the macemen finished the job. My lords poor bones now rest in those forests.
  23. You have indeed proven that you are worth of your avatar, sir! :) Congratulations for your victory! :)
