1. I like the rule regarding towers and walls. It would work with in any Stronghold game actually, but of course, then we also need to limit number of catapults. In Stronghold 2 that is not an issue, but in Crusader 1 (which is not our topic actually) it would be quite a problem if one manages to build 50 catapults and hit castle walls. I agree with you, and that is even something I was mentioning on Firefly's forum or Crusader 2 forum - adding this limit and limiting catapults would add it some realism, though it shouldn't be done without thinking about all the details. I also find it bad that someone is able to build an entire wall in front of your men, or unable to do any changes if your men are close. Engineers are the best solution there - it is more fair system, and it also sets the player free from having to repair the wall (which would be a pain in Stronghold 2 without that flat view we have in Stronghold 1 or Crusader 1). It is nice to find people who like to enjoy their castles, and not just spam everything. :) Though I should stay quite here regarding that - I tend to build quite strong and effective castle in Crusader with relatively large population (around 150, which is not as large as those so called "pro" players do, but they still don't have larger working population). Your maps sound interesting. I haven't checked yet - have you uploaded any of those maps here or at Stronghold Heaven? Maybe we could play few games like that some day - with smaller castles and low resources in castle estates, and with lots of stuff to distract such as outlaw camps, animals, etc... Btw, could that be possible to put a neutral castle in the middle of us with some neutral soldiers (archers, crossbowmen, knights, swordsmen...) that could serve as something which could make us no rush period? The fights could only begin when one player or more of them defeat those men there?
2. I always enjoy playing with people who have such codes of honor - unless they don't make sense of course. I mean, in Crusader I met players who wanted to play without catapults or trebuchets - then they put hundreds of crossbowmen on their castle walls, and you can guess - there is no way to defeat such a lord without catapults, especially if they dig moats around the walls. Now back to Stronghold 2. :) 1, 2, 3) Those sound interesting, I would find it fun to play with those rules! 4) So you don't use burning carts to attack enemy troops, you use them only to attack buildings within the castle estate? Of that's so, it sounds nice. 5) I believe this one was about building siege camps in that bad manner? One again, it is nice to meet lords who fight with honor. :) 8) Well, I see you have a good friend to play with. :) That is a good thing, though sometimes I have feeling that we don't actually have to grow so strong to start the fight. For example, why wouldn't we play with smaller castle estates, and using troops that would require less honor such as spearmen, macemen, pikemen... or some else. Swordsmen also don't require much honor, so in those games if a player makes some knights - those would be small groups of those men. I think it could be really interesting with your "no trebuchets" rule. 9) I agree with what you say about weapons, and I think that it would go well with what I said above under 8). 10) I agree with that too, and again - I think this also goes well with what I wrote under 8. :) We don't actually have to build a castle with huge towers and tick walls. It does make the siege more interesting, but it would bring more unit types into the fight - one would choose between masses of pikemen or fewer swordsmen, while when you are able to train hundreds of them - you don't have what to choose actually. :) I would also like to add that we like to do another thing: when we hold an estate we also build an engineers guild there because it has stairs. Then we can climb some archers or crossbowmen there, and use the guild as a small turret. It does make it more interesting in my opinion. :)
3. This looks really great, I like how you made the scenario! One cares about economy while the other fight. That is something I wanted to try back when I was a kid. :)
4. Hey, guys! I just made one discovery by an accident. I have OneDrive installed on my computer, and while I had it running I was in a game and I pressed PRINT button. Once I minimized the game, I'm not sure if OneDrive asked me if I want to make screenshots with it automatically or it just did it itself... I think it was the first one, and now when I am browsing, playing games, or anything else, I can just hit PRINT SCREEN or ALT + PRINT SCREEN (to make a screen shot of a window), and I get the screenshots in my OneDrive folder. :) Also, OneDrive makes your PC no slower - even my old PC works great with it, though I don't have to have it running in the background all the time. I am telling this because many were coming here asking if there is a way to make screenshots in Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader. I know there are programs such as Fraps, I have it myself too, but OneDrive is one of those that one could have on their PC anyway and it also uploads images on the cloud automatically. It is another issue that it is not the greatest solution to share links from OneDrive here in posts, but the screenshots would be available to you on any of your computers. :) I hope this won't be considered as advertising.
5. Me too, I'm glad that you guys agree. :)
6. Maybe we could try another thing... One of us could create a map on which we could fight with predetermined troops. In that matter I mean, we don't let competitors choose troops that they fight with, but to get some troops like we would in campaign or scenarios, and fight. What do you say about that? Regarding this actual competition, the issue is many of us don't find time to make maps although we would love to - I can say it in my own name in actually, but I assume it stands for others as well. On the other hand if we have one map who would make a balanced map, but not those boring square maps (that's just my opinion), we could try to make an interesting one for that matter. What do you think? I think many could join that competition, because each battle wouldn't require a lot of time. I also have another idea, but similar to first one. We could make two keeps, and players wouldn't be able to train many unit types. Players could start with few swordsmen or few knight, but they wouldn't be able to train them. A player would be able to build a small castle with basic defenses only, and he would need to fight for resources. We could also make it without trading - the accent would be on the fight, and those castles would only provide a player ability to train few more troops during the war, and the goal would be to defeat the enemy army. Invaders would be able to build catapults and trebuchets, though they wouldn't be able to general a lot of gold with those small castles, and defender wouldn't be able to defend from trebuchets from his castle walls - the idea is for players to fight and not to sit in there castles. Also we wouldn't make resources too close to player castles, so they would have to fight to protect those. What do you think about this? We could ask others in a separate tread if you think that would be better?
7. I'm sorry for letting you down, but I won't be able to come to play this weekend. I still haven't finished the work I needed to finish by now, by I would be able to come next week at same time. I am sorry, I was sure I would be faster... :(
8. Another great thing! Thanks for detailed tutorial, I hope I will be able to find some time one day, and to use those to make one glorious map. :) There's indeed a lot one can do, thanks for showing this to us.
9. That's great to hear! And yes, it would be great if you added that information to the first post, like in this template:
June 3, 2014; 19:00 (GMT ??, City)

Game: Game[/*]
Version: game version[/*]
Known participants:

Player 1[/*]
Player 2[/*]
Player 3[/*]
Player 4[/*]
Player 5[/*]
[/*]

10. I checked the map now, it is a good one, and we could play it. It is not balanced though, but it would be interesting to play. Unfortunately, we would need to stick to some rules if we want to play that map because castle estates there are bordering. Two players could literarily build their towers next to each other, and I think we wouldn't like to see that. Maybe someone could edit that map, and make those castle estates smaller by making neutral territory between them or by adding few villages. Regarding when I would be able to play, I wouldn't be able to play until weekend - I believe I should be able to play on Saturday and Sunday, and even on Monday. Something around 20:00 by Central European time zone would be fine by me, but if something else would suit others better, we can see about that. :) And yes, 1.4.1 is the latest patch, and it is the most usual version in multiplayer.
11. Could you give us the link for River Don map, please, I'm not able to find it at this moment. Of course, as I am not home right now, it is even possible that I already have it within the Stronghold 2 maps, or that it is one of the original maps. Regarding the gaming events, most of us are not able to jump in in when one of us says "hey, I wonna play, come here!", although it is possible that I just in that way as well. We mostly plan our gaming events at least for few days ahead, that way more people can see the gaming event, and although some of us have their obligations we do like to make some time for that now and then, and of course - it's always the best thing when you play with people you know, like we know each other here.
12. Thanks, Chris. I did before what you described now, but it seams that I misspelled his name there... Now I see the four maps. I stand with Chris's statements regarding them, and I hope I will play them too as well. Unfortunately I get to play very little these days, but these are going to be great for when I want to relax with Stronghold and enjoy some great landscapes. :) I am surprised to hear that about dictation in German, that was the easies part to me while I was in school. I learned German for eight years by the way, two lessons per week. My biggest problem with German is actually knowing words, while I was handling grammar and writing quite well. All TV shows that were in my country were in Serbian or in English... There was only one short period while your show Medikopter was shown, and while I was watching it I started to understand German better, but later I lost that... :( Now I don't speak, listen, read nor write German, and I was thinking about joining some German community such as Strategie-Zone just so I would force myself to remember those words I have forgot by now, and so I would learn some more... Right now I still don't have the time, but at some moment I would start visiting some of those communities. I could also watch some shows (with subtitles) but being forced to think about words is most effective way to remember them in my opinion. :)
13. I assume those are waiting to be approved, and that we will have them soon? :) I took a short look at your channel. Unfortunately for me, all, or most, of your videos are in German, like you said, while my German is pretty bad. :( I can read it, and understand some of it, but when someone speaks in German I understand almost nothing. :(
14. Wow, with those you made my jaw fall on the floor, Tokamaps. :| Those are incredible! By the way, it appears that you don't have any maps submitted here, at least not under this username. Can we find some of those at Stronghold Heaven? :) It's great to see such beautiful stuff in Stronghold 2, although it is a 3D game you managed to make things great looking just like one would be able to in Stronghold 1 and Stronghold Crusader, only with difference these scenes look in Stronghold 2 even better.
15. I agree, although there were situations where I didn't want to share something like facebook account with the sender. In the particular case those were my high school students who took a picture of while giving a lecture, and I asked them to send the picture to me. Now, the issue was they those are kids and they don't have much of data available or credit (mostly parents don't give them postpaid SIM cards), and most of schools here don't have wifi for students.
16. Nice text about Bluetooth, it did deserve an article for itself. :) It's still the best mean of sending files from one phone to another, although I have noticed that some people simply send images via email, but that doesn't make much sense to me... I mean, instead of using Bluetooth which is free one decided to use email which consumes data and reduces quality (in order to consume less data). On the other hand, this thing with pairing devices (two phones) may overcomplicate pretty simple thing... But of course, it's not too complicated now, it's only one more step to do, but it could be simpler to do - see the devices, pick to which one to send the file, he/she accepts it and receives it. On the other hand, it may be necessary in these days when we can install lots of applications on our phones, and some of them could be harmful to others, although I don't see how does this thing with pairing help with that...
17. As for what I know, changing the boot order of drives should do it, though I never tried something like that... I also think that removing the OS from the old HDD shouldn't be necessary - it should look at it just like at any files, but still, this may not work as I would think it would be logical... :| And yes, I am the guy who gave power which was meant for the HDD into the plug which was dedicated for the floppy drive, so don't listen to me much, thus gave too much power where one must not to it.
18. I find that interesting, many players tend to build larger castles to have stronger economy. You may show us a picture of your typical castle, when you build it in another mission. I never tried editing the trail, I found it more interesting to play the original one. Well, about volley powers, although they are interesting, I don't like them as they make no sense - rocks fall from the sky. :)
19. I see you had an interesting fight against the four Rats there. I believe I won that mission by rushing, but I am unsure, although your way was certainly more fun. If you find any mission difficult to pass, let us know, you might give some of us a challenge. By the way, this might go a little bit of topic, but... how have others done with Crusader Extreme Trail? I must say that I have never won that one, I had less interest in winning it, but we could go through it and see how are we doing those missions! We could try not to use any of the powers, or to use only few of them such as healing troops or getting cash of gold now and then... but definitely not throwing stone from the sky. :D That might be interesting - to see what we can win without those special abilities. What do you think?
20. I stand with infinitysuns. :) Glad to see the forum on its feet again.
21. On the other hand, when it comes to the visitors, it may be better for them when things are this way. Website owners know they must take great care, but visitors have less chances to get their PC's infected, although we may not like that at this moment for our own reasons :) , as what we have is a false positive.
22. Then I shall pay more attention to Google+ page. :)
23. Well, we can forgive you for not knowing about few articles here as you give your best to educate us here in your history tread. :) By the way, I didn't know about the article myself, it is a nice one! I do thank to Isaiah for giving us the short tutorial - besides the fact that we also need those short ones it also lead us to the older SHN article. :)
