Hey, guys! I just meant to say to check out this game - Grand Ages> Medieval. I have noticed it quite a while ago, but it is possible that somebody from here actually noticed it and told us about it. I don't know. The game is a lot different from Stronghold. You don't run any micro-economy, you just build your cities across entire Europe, you can trade, care about diplomacy, wage wars to conquer cities... I have never player Civilization, but this one looks similar to me, but it suits me better - at least from what I was able to see from videos. Maybe the best would be to say that the game seem to be something in between Rise of Nations and Civilization. Oh, and yes, I'd say that it might be better if it had some random maps, and not just to play on one same map every time. I'm not sure if this is the case, but it seems to me like it is. Now it is on sale, it's 75% off, so one can get it for 7.49 euro. I bought it for myself, even though I am unsure when I am going to be able to play it, but what the heck. :D Check it out here. Grand Ages: Medieval There are several videos you may find in the description on the Steam Store page.

I see you're in Mount&Blade right now, my friend. :D Glad to hear you're with us. I too play a non-Stronghold game these days. As a kid I used to play Colin McRae Rally 2 a lot, and now I got Dirt 3 and Grid on Steam. I've been enjoying Grid for some time now. :) And of course, that doesn't mean I'm away from Stronghold, but it's just that I'm very busy lately, and I find playing this racing game better for a short brake. :)

Hey, guys, I just meant to let you know that if you want, you may buy Crusader 2 for very little money on Steam. It's 90% off, so it's 3.49 euro, though I don't know for how long is it going to be on sale. Best regards!

You're wrong pal, this game is not archaic, this game is legendary! :D Especially as Stronghold 1 and Stronghold Crusader are in a way almost the same game, only: -Crusader has faster economy, more dynamic multiplayer, awesome skirmish games, etc., while -Stronghold has slower economy, which makes multiplayer less dynamic but still more interesting because players need to be much more careful, and awesome campaign. There are so many young players who like this game, but sadly they just leave their questions and comments in Steam Discussions even though Forums like this are way better. Sadly they don't know because of laziness, it's easier to ask what they want at Steam Discussions, although contributing these places would be way more valuable... Now let's see those questions. 1. I can't say much about what I do in scenarios because it heavily depends of the scenario. In skirmish I start by making few wheat farms (usually two), one hops farm, not so little woodcutters, maybe a stone quarry, and I start weapons production - bows and spears. I may also buy some bows to train some more archers, to have them to defend my castle. Enclosing castle is not a high priority to me, I mostly focus on economy, and having defensive structures on the side from which I expect early attacks, and later I enclose my castle while I build the rest of my economy. For example, as soon as I get some wheat from wheat farms I have a mill built, etc... Oh, and I never build those early defensive structures randomly, I always build them in a way so I could easily finish my castle without changing anything on those early structures. 2. One layer of three layer wall. 3. Usually no. 4. Neutral. 5. I have at least 20 swordsmen on my keep to protect the lord in case of danger, but I often make my troops to collect on my keep so now and then you may find tons of my troops there. :p

Yes, the issue is still present, I have switched back to the default theme since then, but I've checked it now to see. -
Stronghold 2 Manager is here! Possible to play MP game with bots
EaglePrince replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 2
In case he doesn't reply to you, you may also try sending him a PM and/or an email, you can see the links below his profile picture. You may try with those usual stuff maybe such as compatibility mode, running as administrator, etc... Oh, and one strange thing - when I was trying to make Age of Empires 3 work few months ago, I couldn't do it, and the only solution for me was to copy everything from the games installation folder on one PC, on which the game worked, to the one where the game wouldn't start overwriting the old files there. That fixed the issue with that game, but again - that is another type of issue... Just giving some ideas. :) EaglePrince sends his regards! :D -

Player 'Faces' of AI characters?
EaglePrince replied to Narrikis's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
OK, I will be somewhat busy these days, but I will try to make some of those. :) -
Player 'Faces' of AI characters?
EaglePrince replied to Narrikis's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
I could make it some time. Please, just let me know which AI would be your priority? Isn't bmp file in your Stronghold Crusader installation folder - in the same folder where is the Stronghold Crusader.exe located? I realized it may not be an .exe in your case, but I hope there is something similar. -
Why does everyone in the world seem so angry?
EaglePrince replied to Strife's topic in The Open Castle Inn
I don't know who is Tom Scott, so I had to ask. :D Oh, and Strife, I think that this thing with borders has to be taken seriously. For example, Hungarians have built fences between our border, but that doesn't mean that anybody is going to be isolated. In fact, I can go to Hungary whenever I want, and just a week ago I figured a way how to go to Szeged (a bordering Hungarian city) for only 10 euro. I would only need a passport, and that's all. The issue is about those people who want to pass the border without showing any of their documents. I can't imagine any country imagine to let me in without any papers, cause who knows - I may be a criminal or a psychopath. There are those who fight against those fences in the name of freedom of movement, but that's ridiculous in my opinion. I country shouldn't let anyone in just like I wouldn't let anyone enter my yard. Regarding not wanting to show their papers - they have their reasons. Maybe they hide something, or maybe they simply want to reach Germany or Sweden which are richer countries than Serbia, Hungary, Croatia, etc. Now, I only don't know how it is in the USA, I don't know if that wall between USA and Mexico is necessary, I guess it is not, but what I said above was about refugees from Middle East, Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc. -

Hmm, is that you on the video? :D I noticed he has some exact same things which you said now, but of course - that doesn't have to mean anything. And I think that one of us is also named Tom. :) -
The map editor needs to be downloaded separately. When you install the game, the map editor is not downloaded too, I think you should be able to find it within tools, or something like that. :) EDIT: Yeah, that's right - in the Library I have a category Tools, and there I can find both Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2 map editors.

The End of The US Election. ........
EaglePrince replied to Crusader1307's topic in The Open Castle Inn
Yes, he made a lapsus. :D -
Why wouldn't you be able to use it? Sorry if it's a dumb question. :) I think that there was something about changing some numbers, or something like that, but yeah, there has to be some kind of tool for that. EDIT: Now I noticed, you're on a Mac. :) If you find some tutorial on internet which includes some tool, let us know. I may not have the time to research a little, but if you find something - I could try it for you. :)
-
I will look into this some time later today if you haven't figured out how to do this. If I remember correctly, there should be a tutorial how to edit players color on a map among many Stronghold Heaven tutorials.

The End of The US Election. ........
EaglePrince replied to Crusader1307's topic in The Open Castle Inn
Thanks for those corrections, I really had troubles how to express my self correctly. -
You're welcome. :) Oh, and one more thing - on these maps you can only build wooden walls, and stuff like that. I really like that aspect of Stronghold 3, so I was asking Lord Vetka to make it like that, but you should be able to easily enable more buildings if you want, including stone structures.

The End of The US Election. ........
EaglePrince replied to Crusader1307's topic in The Open Castle Inn
I see that Crusader already gave the answer, but I just wanted to add that in Serbia our flag is at half mast on a day of mourning. I believe it's similar or the same in the rest of the world. :) Another fact - you don't actually rise the flag at half mast. You rise it to the top, and then you slowly lower it at half mast. I have heard that they did it for the first time on an English ship which in 17th century which traveled to Canada. On their voyage the captain died, and when they returned to England they had their flag like this. Another interesting fact when it comes to history of USA and Serbia, and flag. In 1818. after the WWI the flag of Serbia was hang (please correct me, I'm almost sure that "hang" isn't the right verb :( ) in the USA to honor our fight for freedom against Autro-Hungaria and their allies. As far as I know, the only other flag which was hang next to the American one in the USA was the French flag. In both cases the flags were hang in all American institutions. People nowadays mostly connect us with Russia, while many consider USA, France, and UK as our traditional allies. Oh, and about the election, maybe this guy has the point. :) http://9gag.com/gag/a2d4Awd -
Why does everyone in the world seem so angry?
EaglePrince replied to Strife's topic in The Open Castle Inn
Nicely said, Strife. Unfortunately, being from a country which used to be isolated for a while from the rest of the world, I just have feeling that there is no way to correct this issue. It seems sadly that masses will always be controlled. Back in 90's few people had internet, and people knew only those stuff which they were told to justify some bad things done by the government (or somebody who wasn't in the government, but that's not relevant right now). People had their opinions only based on what they were told by medias. I'm not saying that in those sad times one part was a bad guy, and the other is a good guy, it was far from being black and while, it was a process that couldn't be stopped that moment. Some time later one would think that it is should be better today because we have internet and we have access to information from the rest of the world, but it still doesn't work like that. They can still just bash those foreign media how they have agenda to justify what they want (e.g. to justify supporting rebels in Syria against their government, to justify attack on Libya, etc.), though at least partly that's what people in the Western countries think too (BBC for example). I mean, we simply may not have the correct information about some events, and when that is the case: from false information one could deduce anything. The only way for people to find out something else is when their country starts to get bombed, :( or when their incomes become smaller, etc. Oh, and more importantly, we in Serbia don't have a long democratic tradition, so I was expecting that elections should work better in countries where that is not the case, but it turned out that I was wrong there two. In South Park they joked a little about the elections in the USA, and they were saying how Americans choose for their president from Giant Douche (Trump) and Turd Sandwich (Hillary). When I was younger thought Americans wouldn't come in that situation like us. Each several years we choose between some Giant Douche and some Turd Sandwich, and for 15 years we're looking at those same faces. But yet, it seems that even in the USA it doesn't matter who is better than who, but who will promote themselves more in the media. This paragraph may seem a little bit off topic, but I just give that as one more example of influence by media... -
Here are the maps. Brukner Eagles Lair But be aware that I am sending you all versions that I have. There is one version of Eagles Lair in which I think I wasn't able to build armory (it was disabled by mistake), and in some version of the map I think that the lord wasn't able to leave the keep, and that was because of terrain. Now we shall wait for Chris to tell us what's going to be the best thing to do with those maps, and when we submit them to downloads section I am going to remove those download links. :)
-
Hey, today I'm going to be busy, but I have one map which Lord Vetka created for me. I will check in the download section if he has submitted it to Downloads section, and if not - I would submit it on his behalf. Or, if Chris has a better solution I would send him the map by email. I think he hasn't submitted it, I will check it, but this isn't actually a free build map. I'd rather say it's an easy invasion map with beautiful landscapes on which you could chill. :) Actually there are two maps he created and sent me - one where you start on a hill, I think it is some coastal area, and the other where you're in a valley, there is also some cave on that map. If anyone is in contact with Lord Vetka, please say him hi, and tell him that we miss him here. :(

Unfortunately, I was doing some work, and I didn't find the time to play it. It's such a pity I haven't found any time by now to win this map - I mean at all, not just for this competition. And I think that Nigel deserves all 3 points for his battle accomplishments, this mission really isn't easy. :)
-
You had a lot of fun I see, I hope I'll be able to give it a shot tomorrow. :)
-
I haven't been able to play Stronghold Legends Steam Edition since its release, although I did find a little bit time to have a look into the game after I got the update. The only difference I noticed were those Steam related stuff - achievements, Steam multiplayer, etc... Is there anything else?
-
That is a tough mission, I tried it once before, and I remember I couldn't make it from the first try. I again have some other obligations, :( but I hope to try to win this one.
