Can't uninstall Crusader 1.2-1.3HD
Lord Vetka replied to Lord Vetka's topic in Stronghold Crusader & Crusader Extreme
Yes I checked that patch and it's for SH1, so that did not help. I have not tried a clean install, if I remember correctly it does not show an install only the one uninstall for Extreme. I have tried with the disc, same thing it wants to remove Extreme but says I have to remove 1.2 first. There has to be a way, I will find it! even if I have to reinstall Windows as a last resort. -
Maybe the best way would be to have it as a code of honor, make it " We do like to play with a basic code of honor" something like that, and have a basic comment about what a code of honor is. Maybe-" A code of honor- To play a game where you can set your enemy castle on fire but not the troops outside of the castle, you can use trebs but not on troops outside of the castle, no blocking your enemies gates or no surrounding your village estates flag with stock rooms and a knight... something along those lines might be OK.

Yes you can have the same view in the C2 map editor, you need to click the "Free Camera" button on the top bar, it does take a little getting used to. I like to turn off the "Highlight Objects" button and have the grid showing when making maps. I have been using the "Move Rotate and Scale buttons" and will tell about how to use them in the map editor tips thread.

Lord Vekta: do you want to do a joined map project?
Lord Vetka replied to Nigel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Or maybe looking forward to seeing the map set in Sand! I have an idea of what I will do with the map now, I am working on an invasion map but will start on this one soon. I plan on making the map similar to the first one, but this time I will make the iron and stone separate on neutral ground in the corners and have one level up area for the 2 castle estates and the 2 city estates can be where they are, I will add a few screens when I have something. If you want to see the map I made it is posted in the downloads, "Abnar River Valley" -
Congratulations EaglePrince, nice signature! Checking out the view buttons, I do like to use the main one with the red circles in it, like you said view the map any way you want, I like to get down to ground level and take a walk around, and I really like being able to zoom way out. Makes for some great screen shots!

I have 1.2 and I updated it to 1.3HD a while back, now I want to reinstall back to 1.2, I can't find an uninstall for 1.2 or 1.3HD, I've looked in the start menu, the add and remove, in the game folder, but no luck. I put the disc in and it shows that I can uninstall Extreme but 1.2 does not show, so I try and uninstall Extreme but it tells me I need to uninstall 1.2 first. I'm running Windows 7 home. Could I patch it up to 1.2, I do have 1.1 installed as well and it would want to try and update that version with 1.2 more than likely, that's what it did when I installed 1.3HD the first time, it updated the 1.1 version, then I had to uninstall it and run the 1.3HD patch, then reinstall 1.1. Patch Patch Patch to much Patching!

Maybe along with some basic rules we could add in a basic code of honor, not that we need it but other players will do some extra things just to win, I don't play online very much but I have seen what people will do win:-)

Lord Vetka replied to Nigel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Glad that you like the map Nigel, I am not happy with the amount of stone and iron that is being placed, the last iron deposits I tried were the smaller patches on the NE site but I never tested to see if they would work. The picture you provided leaves me thinking about making the map the same way but instead of putting keeps up in the hills they can be down the valley above the village estates and they would have to travel a bit to get the stone and iron and could be side by side, maybe raise the ground by 1 level and leave the villages at level ground. I have also thought about interlocking the castle estates so they overlap, kind of like bricks, or maybe at 45 degree angles and with the borders touching. It would be good for allied but for enemies together would be hard. I made a medium 4 player map Sunday and will post it here soon, it's just a bit to small for the map we want to make, it could work but it would be tight, the large map does have more than enough room, maybe to much. I found a disappointment in my new map, I used the raise ground to raise the ground on the east side of the river by about a third of what you get with the first height, when testing, the map worked until you attacked the keep, the keep is under the sand enough that you can't get troops up onto the keep, so I had to lower the ground to sea level, not to happy about that. Anyway, I will be waiting to hear from you! Mathew, we will be needing a play tester, you will be the first to know! Thank You for the positive feed back! -

I have a screen up now, click the link. You should have the map in your email Nigel. This is just a test map, It would be good if you could give me some feed back on this map so I can get started on the real map. -
Stronghold 3 - current state: performance and multiplayer
Lord Vetka replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 3
Well you would have to persuade me to install it first, then we will see if I even want to play it, and lets see if there would be some time to play online, I would rather play more of the Extreme maps we played. If it came down to it, I could even send you guys thew new SHC2 map I made for the Two Cities project I'm working on with Nigel, it's just a 4 player test map but it does work, and looks pretty good to! If it were me, I would put the money towards getting SHC2 now, SH3 will be around later. -

Lord Vetka replied to Nigel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
I have been busy with the SHC2 map editor and have made a Two Cities test map, I would like to post a screen here but, it is not my expertise working with the forums and putting screens in the threads. I did try and use the BBcode and could not even submit, and had to come back and do it again, sorry! I will send you the map via email. Edit- The map is in the mail. Lord Chris, I sent you a folder with a few screens and wanted to put the last screen "1 g" up here, could you add that one in or does it have to be posted somewhere else first, I told you guys:-) I'm totally illiterate when it comes to the forums, I can't even get links right:-) -
I just went on a holiday, to SHC2 land, spent a few days playing around making a test map for the "Two Cities" Good to see you back, glad you enjoyed your time away! I will move over to your other post.

Stronghold 3 - current state: performance and multiplayer
Lord Vetka replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 3
I bought the game when it first came out, and had to buy a new PC to play it:-(, after several attempts by FireFly to fix their mess I gave up on it, the editor is the same as the new C2 editor, I did make a reasonably good map for it, but only the one map, as far as the later patches go I have no idea, but people did say it was stable after the patches. Some things I did not like about it were, the size of the building foot print and that the buildings had to be placed on flat ground, that's to boring. I do believe if you were to take the time to really learn the game then it might be OK. You would more than likely be on your own if you wanted to play it though. I would suggest trying the new SHC2 while everyone else is trying it out, SH3 will still be there and will more than likely get even cheaper. Now back to that new C2 map I am making! -
Congratulations, we have a winner! Good eye! The river should flow to the sea, not away! Now, What could you get for a prize? I could send you a map that will test you, would you like that in Crusader 1.1 or SH2, not quite there yet for SHC2.

That will definitely help, I was just about to play around with the spawn point. The map I made has 4 estates and 2 village estates and I did place keeps for all of them and it seamed wrong when testing the map, does that improve the invasions with a war scenario? So the spawn point is where the keep will be placed, now that makes more sense! Edit- I put in the spawn points and now the AI works properly, but I do have a new problem, I put spawn points into the villages as well, and now I get a 6 player map that you can place yourself into the village, but you can't do anything, I can't find a way to remove the spawn points from the villages, anyone know how?

You are looking at the right thing, just not big enough, look at the whole map! My clues are getting to easy!
-
So I guess no one found the error! Any ideas, it's a subtle error, but there anyway. It's a natural error, something does what it should not. It's even the best part of the map! If that doesn't give it away!

"new items" tag missing at downloads section
Lord Vetka replied to EaglePrince's topic in Site Questions and Support
Just to let you know, I have notices the download center has slow uploads. Click on a map and it takes a while to load. -
Just a thought, did you put the castle on a village estate by mistake?

Sounds good to me, I will be there at 10. -
That is a good question that has many answers, I will give you my opinion. The main threat from the internet is from your own computer, if you do not have good uptodate security and do a full scan weekly you could get infected, you should also have more than one type of security software, I use "System Explorer" and "UnHackMe" they both monitor the PC all the time, when I want to do some thing online like banking or making a purchase or checking an account for a service that does have my personal info, I will run those 2 programs to do a quick check first. The internet is full of dangers, you do have to be cautious where you go, but if you have updated security you should be fine. If you want to use a credit card to make purchases then I recommend using a bank service like "PayPal" I used PayPal to buy SHC2 from Steam, or an "ewallet" like "Netteller", This way you only give your personal info out once, not every time you use your credit card. That's what I do and I do not have any problems, Thank You for that! Edit- I don't believe in free security, but Windows does come with a good security built in, "Microsoft Security Essentials" it's what I use. Windows is not free but the security comes with it.

Holiday, Whats that! Enjoy! Maybe when you get back I will have a map made for you to check out!

You can make restrictions in the skirmish maps to. Did you put any buildings in for the AI? Any of the older games this would cause the AI to not build any more.

Lord Vetka replied to EaglePrince's topic in Gaming Events
Yes I did think of that and will give it a try, but I will have to go back to an earlier save before I placed the keeps and set them up in a different order. The map is good the way it is, I have no problem playing it again, I did play it again with a mix of AIs and had 2 Lionhearts as my allies and put in 2 Wolves 3 Wazirs and a Pig, with AIs building smaller castles the map worked properly, 7 and 8 had a Wazir and a Wolf and they built and stayed in the game. -
"The First Commands" Map Complete
Lord Vetka replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Most disappointing, The problem he is having is opposite of our problem, he says it works in standard mode but in objective mode the enemies just stand there not attacking. Mathews map has the invaders standing there not attacking in standard mode. Got to be something we are missing, I downloaded the map and will have a look later.
