It looks like I could play in the morning. My time right now is 7:30 AM, Novi Sad time is 4:30 PM. I could arrange to play in the morning, so any time between 9:00 AM and on would be good, you would have to let me know ahead of time. I'm still playing with version 1.3.1 and Arden is made with 1.3.1, would that be a problem?

Sorry but I don't play very often, the last time I played SH2 multi was in version 1.3.1 I think, it was a long time ago, I do want to try my last 2 SHC-E maps with you though, but I will have to install gameranger and find my old login info. 1.4.1 is more compatible with 1.3.1 than 1.4, 1.4 left you not being able to put troops onto towers and walls they would walk right through them like they did not exist, in 1.3.1. The maps I posted at HG are maps made with 1.3.1 until 1.4.1 came out, any maps I made to post here are 1.3.1, some of the maps that were posted at HG have been posted here, they are 1.4.1. I did have a problem with a map I'm making, I started it in 1.4.1 and am finishing it in 1.3.1, there have been some troubles, the water became crossable anywhere and by anyone, I replaced all of the water, and the troops I placed on the enemy castles caused some troubles to, I had to delete all of the preplaced enemy troops and add in the walls and towers then put new troops on them. You are welcome to playtest that map if you like, I'm still trying to make it fun and interesting, but it all works, there are 2 missions.

My new Extreme map "Candahar" is ready for testing, this is the map you suggested EaglePrince. You asked for a valley and to be on low ground so you can dig motes, I give you 2 allied enemies with 4 outposts each, 2 of each, and you have 2 allies, the valley goes around, at the head of the valley is the enemy keeps on high ground, at the start of the turn you will find a keep for an ally and just around the corner you will find another keep for an ally and a little further you will find your keep, your allies each have 2 outposts and you don't get one. The map is unbalanced, the top of the map has growing area and stone, the 2 keeps below have iron stone and a little growing area, and enough wood for everybody. I have the map in the intended play mode and a 6 player map with each site having 2 outposts, I've played a couple of times and lost, but the maps works fine. Your running 1.4.1, that would be your trouble, Firefly took the auto fire away after 1.3.1. Here we are running 1.3.1 as the main version, 1.4 was made for multiplayer and 1.4.1 was made days later to fix the troubles they caused with 1.4. 1.3.1 is the better version, and if you can play on Gameranger, even better.

I'm happy to announce that "Abertine" has been posted for your enjoyment! I guess my wording was a bit strong, the Ally is an asset, he gives you a chance to build and could be a fun challenge to keep him alive until the win, and like you said, he does attack. The next map will be a little more towards making the AI a little stronger, 2 Allied enemies side by side with more than enough resources and 4 outposts each, and as you asked low ground for you to dig in and 2 Allies on either side of you. -

Sounds like you've had an Extreme battle, congrats on winning against the Wazer, I finally managed to win against the Snake, I would feel bad about that except we are not fighting 1 AI it's the 8 outposts that make it hard. Having the Ally is not really an asset, I couldn't keep him alive, but it did give me a chance to build my defenses before I became the target, a good challenge to keep your Ally alive until you defeat the enemy. I gave Fredrick a try, he was a bit slow getting started. He might be my next opponent, I wonder if there is any difference in how each AI would use the outposts. Nice strong castle you built, bristling with crossbows, is this the map with no outpost? I had to use the outpost, with not building a castle and having only 1 tower and no walls makes it more interesting, the cats were useless, so I took the engineers out of them and made ballistas to defend my keep along with troops from the outpost. Taking out the outposts is not easy but it is effective, against the Snake I never went after the outposts, instead, after I managed to get the defenses under control, I made 60 horse archers and 60 assassins, I had them on the left side of my keep and had to move them through the heavy streams of invaders to get over to the right side of the Snakes castle, then a little timing and a few vollies of arrows later and victory was mine. I did use the powers, mostly for the gold and a few times when the enemy got into the right side of my keep, I dropped Masemen and some Knights into them along with my range units it was fine. After testing the map and now your response, I would say the map is not to hard, it would be ready to post it the way it is, do you agree? Maybe I'll add a second map with only 6 outposts, just tone it down a bit. Now an idea for a new map, same idea but make 2 enemy keeps with 4 outposts each and maybe try having 2 Allies one on each side of you, so many possibilities. -

Revenge was sweet, I played against the Snake again last night, I played with an outpost and used the powers. In the beginning my Ally was in trouble so I sent a dozen swordsmen to his keep and used the power to make 10 Knights that I sent over, he did not last long. My outpost was producing cats that were no use to me, so I took the engineers out of the cats and made ballistas with them, and had about a dozen of them protecting my keep. On the keep and the one tower I had a mix of range units, I never used any walls, mostly walls of troops, my outpost was making swordsmen and knights, as well as spearmen and archers, and the power bar was put to use, mostly for gold but when the enemy was getting into the right side of my keep I would make mase men and drop them into the enemy as well as a few sets of Knights. With steady streams of enemy troops heading to my keep, I finally had a chance to start making an army to take the Snake out with, I made 60 horse archers and 60 assassins, they were on the left side of my keep and had to be moved through the steady stream of enemy troops, so I sent the horse archers out first to help clear the way and followed with the assassins, when I reached the right side of the Snakes castle it did not take to long to finish him off, I just had to time my assassins to reach the keep when no enemy troops were going through, I did hit a group of archers and slaves with an arrow volley, then the Snake fell and sweet victory was mine, Yeah! -

I will send the map shortly, I tried again last night against the Snake, this time I gave myself an outpost, and yet again I got my but handed to me, pretty sad when your ally outlasts you=) And against one Snake! Extreme! I will send both maps, I put an outpost in for you on one of the maps. Did you get a chance to check the last set of maps that I sent you? one was a Crusader map to see if that is what you were looking for, and the other 3 maps "Ivrkhard" multi maps with one map giving 2 Euro outposts to each enemy. -

I did a test map, put 8 outposts at the top of the map with no keep, then put 2 keeps at the bottom 1 for me and 1 for an ally, unfortunately, the AI troops just stood at the outposts waiting to be told what to do. After that failed attempt I made a new 400x400 map, in the NE corner I raised the ground a bit and placed 4 of each outpost behind 1 keep and then put 2 keeps into the SW corner on more raised ground, gave the AI keep a European outpost, and no outpost for you, I think you might need one this time. I tested with the "Wolf as my ally and the "Wazer" as our enemy, lets say we didn't last very long, then I put "Richard" in as my ally and the Wazer for the enemy, I worked hard at keeping Richard alive, but not to be, then I was the target and managed a few more years before my time was up. Very intense! Anyone like to test this map? -
Don't let the idea of an economic map fool you, this is not an easy map, place your keep where you want and reach the required goals before your time runs out, Enjoy!

I've played a new 1.2 map yesterday in version 1.3HD, there were no issues that I could see, it went just like any other map I've played.

I sent you an email with 4 maps, 3 are for Extreme, the + map has 2 outposts each, and 1 is a crusader map that I made a while ago, I sent it because it sounds like what you said about what you might build, if that's what you are looking for tell me and I will make it in Extreme, any changes let me know. It doesn't sound like you had an easy time with that setup, when I tried something similar I got my but kicked, as long as you had a good time! -
The idea comes from HG, someone asked what maps he should look for and people came along and made suggestions, as people find maps they like to play they could come and add more to the thread, list. There are a lot of maps at HG and most people don't go past the first page, and they don't know that you can search an author or map, or what to search for to start with, a lot of really good maps get forgotten and lost in time.

If I remember correctly, my Ally was a Lionheart, and I had 2 Lionhearts and Fredrick as my enemy and put Fredrick out front, gave myself 4000 gold, I was overwhelmed by the quick start to invasions with knights and swordsmen from the outposts. I will take a look and see if 8 keeps will fit, 4 at the top and 4 at the bottom, with 8 keeps you can choose to play any lesser number, if I map the map flat with no high ground for the keeps it will work, maybe it will work with 2 keeps in each corner. With 8 keeps you can play the same map with almost any combination, from 2 to 8 players. That is the disappointing thing about prebuilding castles for the AI, they do not rebuild buildings or place farms and such, you can build in an economy for them and make it better, and they will move troops around. If you place to many troops on the castle then when the game starts he will take some of those troops and send them your way. If you want to see the AI using a prebuilt castle, you could download my Crusader war scenario"Darshen" the enemy castle is prebuilt with an economy running and scripted invasions. The map is posted at HeavenGames. I will play around and see what I can come up with, I do have an SH2 map to make first. -

That's Extremely good to hear, glad you enjoyed the map. You built a good and large castle, had your economy going great, the poor Lionheart gets the brunt of attacks again=) I gave the map a try with the Euro outposts and Euro enemies, I was overwhelmed fairly quickly, my war skills are a little slow, I'm not into heavy stressing battles like I used to. What would you like to see for a multiplay map? 6 or 8 players, maybe some with outposts some with out, protected areas and high ground lots of resources easy to get or restricted and have to fight for them or... I was thinking of making a map with 2 or 3 prebuilt enemy castles and a few spots for you and an Ally or 2, it might give it a feel of a war scenario, the AI does not play in a prebuilt castle, but he does use the economy you build for him and the outposts would be like having invasions scripted. -

The new map "Ivrkard"is now posted, have an extreme time! I think if people want to play the map in multi, the setups would be to many, so the best thing to do would be to set the map up the way you agree and make the adjustments and send the map to whoever will be playing, tag it as Ivrkard M. You can smell great battles, I agree I've smelled a few already, it can get very intense. I saw your thread about gameranger, I don't have it installed at the moment, and only played Crusader once with a powerplayer who was heavily restricted, he could only use 2 types of troops and I still got my but kicked. I hope you enjoy "Ivrkard" -

Thanks for the info, I tried adjusting the outpost last night, I played my new 5 player map and my ally has a Euro outpost and I set mine to large, by the end of the game I had hundreds of troops at the outpost and my ally and me were finishing off the last Caliph, it was to easy. I'm sure the player does not need an outpost. I put an outpost into your allies camp, it can be deleted if you want to play multi, or let your ally have some fun. I will be posting the map today or tomorrow, maybe we can have a game together, it might be fun, I don't play multi very often, it would definitely beat having an ally who just keeps sending groups of troops to their deaths, "your mom probably does a better job", he makes for a good decoy though. =) -

I did not know you could make changes to the outposts, how did you make changes? You will be happy to know that the maps have been uploaded to the site, I did move the keep and put in the euro outposts on the second map. The next map is done and lets say it's a bit harder, I gave my ally an outpost and we went quite a bit farther, but when my ally went down the focus was on me, and then I went down:) I changed the outposts to euro and tried the map again, Knights and swordsmen from the start, it was overwhelming, I will post these 2 maps soon and you can try your luck, I will have to sharpen my war skills. Here we might say" don't fix it if it's not broke" -

I saw the post, glad you liked the map, I used the outposts for each keep, keep #2 with outpost #2 and keep 3 with outpost #3, I never set troop amounts or times, I just placed the outposts for each keep. I will change the outposts in my new map to euro and test it again, I will posts these 2 maps soon. -
Nice going EaglePrince, well built castle, glad to see you had an exciting battle. I gave you enough resources, maybe to many, but the iron and stone had to be fought for, I don't want to make it to easy for you. When I tested the map, my towers went on the points and finally one in the middle, I never did use any walls, my game play is a little slow so I did use the extra powers, good for you to not use the powers. Having the outposts there for the enemy makes for a more exciting map, I put in 2 euro outposts and tried it with euro Lords, again good fun, I will post the map soon. Yesterday I made a new map, 400x400 with 3 enemies across the map and 1 Allie beside you, tested with 3 Caliphs and Richard as my Allie, I forgot to give him an outpost so he was done fairly soon, the 3 Caliphs swarmed him, then me, but I did use the powers again, mostly gold. I will add in euro outposts on this new map and make a few adjustments and post it soon as well. A fine idea you came up with EaglePrince, giving the outpost to the enemy and not you then playing in Skirmish mode makes for some fun gaming. I will do some experimenting see if there are more things to make it better.
