I hope this kind of topical self promotion isn't against the rules but for the past few months I've been working on a high quality playthrough of the Stronghold HD Military Campaign on Very Hard difficulty for YouTube. I'm doing full English commentary for the entire playthrough which I'm hoping helps explain my strategy. As of this post I've made it about halfway through so if that's sounds like something you'd be interested in watching I'll include a link to the YouTube playlist below.

It was strange that my 5s arrived on the same day Firefly announced this. I personally prefer Android but all the flagships are too big for my pockets so I ended up getting the previous gen iPhone 5s.

While the rock paper scissor mechanic may not be very pronounced in the game it should be very possible to set up more of a 'siege that' in tactical battle format where both sides get set number of troops and whoever out-maneuvers the other would gain the upper hand and win.

My Stronghold Kingdoms No Cards Start vlog
Sir DavidSpy replied to Sir DavidSpy's topic in Stronghold Kingdoms
I'm keeping up for the most part with the moderate carders, those who just throw money at the game are quite a bit more advanced than I am but they are in the vast minority. -
About 15 days ago now I started anew in the newly opened USA3 with a renewed commitment to build up as fast as I could but without cards. After day eight of daily updates I moved to a 'week-in-review' format and hope to have the weekly video up later today. So far, feedback on the series has been very positive and I figured I'd share it here in the hopes that others will find it useful.

This is what I'm seeing in every thread. Windows 10, latest version of Firefox. (Image displayed twice)

Yeah, it's a shame the old site is so well hidden. It will really make it hard for new players with questions to find.

Modern integrated graphics should be sufficient for general purpose computer usage such as web browsing, watching videos, and maybe some light games. Celeron is pretty much the bottom of the bin when it comes to Intel processors though, shouldn't matter much for your listed use case though.

When looking for another GPU and CPU...
Sir DavidSpy replied to EaglePrince's topic in Computer Support
If there is one upgrade for older hardware that you'll see a tangible improvement in performance after upgrading, it's chucking out your old HDD and installing a new Solid State Drive. Seriously, don't bother with CPU or RAM upgrades on an older rig, if you don't have a SSD yet though, get one. You'll be pleasantly surprised, I guarantee it, especially with the recent drops in price per GB.? -
I hope it's acceptable to post a relevant link here. Rather than forcing users to search for me I figured I'd just drop the link to my Steam profile and make it simple. :) http://steamcommunity.com/id/stateofdekay/

Your opinion about the download comment system
Sir DavidSpy replied to Lord_Chris's topic in Site Questions and Support
I agree with the consensus to keep the comment system, I often find myself reading product reviews before buying anything online and this is similar, also, it makes it easier to solicit feedback on maps/scenarios. -
Just thought I'd let you know that aside from the already noted missing private messages I had no issues using the updated forum. Also my belated congratulations to Charles of Tours and Nigel on their promotions.

Wow, it's been almost a month already! Well I've put together a four part series which discusses which researches are rank-appropriate and possible synergies between them. They are all posted to my Stronghold Kingdoms fan site but you are free to link to them here as well.? http://stronghold-kingdoms-strategy.com/research/

Appreciate the input, I'll see what I can put together.

I'm planning on making more tutorials for Stronghold Kingdoms in the near future, they'll probably just be video tutorials but we'll see how much time I have. Anyways I'd like to get the perspective of players unfamiliar with Stronghold Kingdoms, what mechanic would you like to see an in depth explanation of?

Usually PCs setup for 2, 3 or 4 way SLI (or crossfire if you are using ATI cards) make use of the additional cards by having them each take a turn rendering a frame instead of forcing one card to render them all. Unless you are planning on playing games on either multi-monitor setups or at 4k resolutions a gtx 980 will handle anything you can throw at it currently. I myself have an ASUS STRIX GTX 970 in my PC and it's a champ.

Have you checked out Incompetech? http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/faq.html Kevin MacLeod's music is royalty free, you just need to credit him.

Vegas Pro will be better than Premiere Elements but it's also much more expensive. There is a nice comparison on TomsHardware by an industry professional and the reason I decided on the Adobe family is it looks like it'll be around for the forseeable future whereas Sony might not continue it's Vegas suite meaning you'll have to transition to a new editor and relearn it.

Sad to say but the odds are good that the requests came from bots. Check out the profiles, if they are low level and private there is a very good chance they are bot accounts hoping to trick you out of your account through phishing schemes involving links to phony 'images'. BTW I'm http://steamcommunity.com/id/stateofdekay/ on Steam.

How is it? I've been using Premiere Elements for editing work.

Just to chip in my two cents: 1. Make sure the site you are on is legit. Best way is to search it in Google as they take down site forgeries from their results and most likely the site you are trying to find is paying for top billing on the results. Don't follow links others give you to sites that ask you to buy or download programs. Google it. 2. Credit Card or PayPal for online payments if you can, it adds an additional layer of protection between the seller and your bank account. I use credit cards as I get 2% cash back on all purchases. 3. My AV is MSE, I used to use Comodo Firewall (the free version) which is fine for the overly cautions but most of the time it just got in the way. I'd be installing programs I new were legit and still had to allow modifications to my file system. Check it out though if you would like to fine tune your security suite. 4. Make sure the site processing your transaction is secured using SSL, there should be a lock icon in your browser address bar. The merchant you are buying from pays all PayPal or credit card related fees, you incur no additional cost for using such services. Exception being government services.

My favorite? Probably the removal of the Charms bar followed by bringing back the start menu, as surprising as that may seem. It effectively allows me to completely ignore the 'metro' side of Windows on a desktop which was my major gripe in Windows 8.

Anyone else here try the Windows 10 technical preview yet? I've been running it on my laptop for the last few months now and am really liking it. MS brought back the start menu for the desktop which was one of the biggest grips users had about Windows 8. Microsoft is offering Windows 10 upgrade for free to users of Windows Vista and 7 once it's released, you can also get the technical preview now from Microsoft free of charge. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-download
