Well done @EaglePrince! That's some achievement, take a well earned break!

I was under the impression that you could just use it. I haven't configured anything specifically for it yet. I'll take a look today and see if I can sort something out.

I'm really not sure what's going on here but it sounds like there is some kind of caching issue with your browser. Do you use any browser extensions or anything which modifies the page source or behaviour of a website? The issues you're talking about, particularly when submitting your file, don't seem to be happening to anyone else and when I've tried it myself after you mentioned, it's all working fine for me. The behaviour isn't really that different either from when I do it to when any other user does it. Your file is available here, and has been since approved: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/625-the-mamluk-siege-of-acre-1291/ I've checked it again just now and the reason it's not appearing within the download categories is because the category is showing as invalid. However, it is still available from the downloads index on the 'last file' header for Stronghold Crusader, and you can get it from the 'Latest Downloads' sidebar on the main site as well. I also noticed that it doesn't have a preview image when I approved it, so I checked all of the server logs and it appears as if you just.. didn't upload a one. Despite rigorous testing I've been unable to re-create either of these issues, which is why I think it must be down to some extension or browser issue. If you can let me know what browser you use, what extensions you have and what's actually happening when you try to do this stuff, I'll investigate more into the issue. Probably best if you send me a PM. Feel free to send your email in now if you haven't already using the link above. That won't change. -
Pleased to announce you can now sign into your Stronghold Nation account using Microsoft or by Twitter. We're working on adding Facebook integration too, but unfortunately Facebook have stopped verifying developer apps indefinitely because of Covid, so there's no telling how long away this might be yet. Hopefully this all helps you out, though! ☺️

When did you submit it? I can't find any unapproved files there. There are no logs in the error log that I can find, and when I submit a file there it works for me. We haven't been notified there are any new files either. Can you please send me a PM containing the name of your submission, a submission number you received if it was successful, and any errors you received? -
I don't think you can download it anymore now sadly, I think it was only available for a limited time. You could contact Firefly though and ask for a beta code, Nick gave me one a while back, though granted that's because I couldn't get the demo working on my new machine. It's only a single mission to play in the demo, but by am I impressed with the work and background that's gone into it. I'm particularly interested in the concept of Peace Consulates, because it allows you (in theory) to peacefully annexe an estate instead of taking it by force. It also seems that while in previous versions of Stronghold you could just walk straight up to a neutral estate and claim it, you now need to fight off the Warlord and any army around the estate. I haven't tried using Peace Consulates yet because I'm still not quite sure how they work, but I might go back into the demo and try it again.

That's a very nice remake of Acre @artofmath! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with for your entry (and playing it of course!) Looking forward to it @Andreas9541! There's some serious competition going on here already, you guys are going to produce some really exciting maps by the sounds of it. -
Just wondering which of you guys have played the Stronghold Warlords Demo yet and what you thought of it? I've had it downloaded for a while but only just got a chance to have a look at it. I have to say, Firefly have really impressed me with how they've managed to put everything together. There's a lot of depth to the game, and it's really stable, especially considering it's just a beta/demo version. They've combined all of the best parts from both Stronghold 3 and Crusader 2 and really built on things. Got a few screenies attached for you all

Hey @artofmath, just wanted to let you know that under normal circumstances I would test your map, but as I'm the Judge and Administrator of the Competition I won't be on this occasion as it could prejudice the result. Keep patient, & I'm sure someone will come along soon! -

This sounds very nice! I'll look forward to hearing more about it No worries @Krarilotus, it's fine it's easy to misinterpret things sometimes! Sorry @EaglePrince ..... but as a staff member the site rules prevent you from entering the contest you can still make an entry though, and submit it to the downloads as well. And I can still let you know how I would have graded it if you like. Just not officially enter it, I'm afraid. You should give it a try @Isaiah! You never know what can come out of it, some of my best maps in the past have been total "trials". Plus, we have a whole load of tutorials on the site to give you some advanced design ideas Like I said to @Krarilotus earlier, I'm sorry about this but it was due to a programming error that repeatedly sent it a number of times only to certain users throughout the night. As soon as I found out about this, it was stopped. -
I'm pleased you like it! You are correct in what you say that the notifications system only works on the forum, however there is now an option to subscribe to files as well. Before on the old forum, you were only ever subscribed to files automatically if in your profile you had the "Automatically subscribe me to every topic I post in" checked. When I built the site from the ground up again for the new forum, I added a new checkbox when you go to submit your file now, which gives you the choice of whether to subscribe or not. If you subscribe, you will automatically be sent an email when your file is approved or rejected. You will also receive an email on every new post which is made on your download. This behaviour doesn't actually change as it's the same as before, but it's more the way that it's done that has changed. I get the benefit of choosing whether it's an internal of external notification, but this will probably be a lot of work to do so with the amount I have on my plate at the moment, I can't see it happening for a few months at least. P.S. If you want to subscribe to a file that you've already uploaded, but haven't already subscribed to, you can visit it in the downloads section and click on the "subscribe to this file" link. You can unsubscribe at any time. The same thing is also true for download categories, you can visit them on the site and click the subscribe link, and you'll receive emails for all the files that are posted in that category. This is a setting in the admin panel which is globally changed, I did notice when the site was upgraded that this was happening, but I need to try and choose an exact colour to use (in hex, in case you're wondering) instead of the one which was picked, and it needs to be a colour that doesn't clash with anything. It's more a timing issue really, I just really haven't had time yet to iron out some of the smaller bugs

I've replied to your email. Please keep in mind that you only sent it to me at midnight last night - only just over 12 hours ago - and I've been busy all morning. It's impossible for me to provide an instant reply to everything. With regards to the announcement, I'm sorry about that. I set it away last night to send one email out to all members and due to a programming error it continued sending the last batch on through the night and into this morning, or I would have found it sooner. As soon as I found out about this, I've stopped it from happening. I'm not sure how long ago exactly this was, or what the error even was, but the download section is indeed working and has been for some time now. But please note that I only find out about errors if people tell me about them or I stumble across them myself. The site has just been through a big upgrade where it was offline for several days. Despite what things may seem we are actually the most active Stronghold community, we regularly post new articles and content all of the time, and there are active downloads regularly added as well. There is more than just a forum here -
Stronghold Nation Summer Contest 2020 The admin team are delighted to announce our latest competition for 2020, working in partnership with Firefly Studios to provide a free Steam code for Stronghold Warlords, upon release, for the winner of our competition. Welcome, Lords and Ladies, to the Stronghold Nation Summer Contest 2020! Prizes 1st place: Free copy of Stronghold Warlords upon release and the Stronghold Kingdoms Starter Pack 2nd place: Free copy of Stronghold Crusader 2 Ultimate Edition and the Stronghold kingdoms Starter Pack 3rd place: Free copy of Space Colony How it all works Most Competitions lay out strict ground rules stating what you can and can't do. This one is different. To celebrate the history of the iconic Stronghold series and its newest upcoming release, we have decided to allow entries from any Stronghold game: Stronghold 1, Stronghold Crusader, Stronghold 2, Stronghold Legends, Stronghold 3, Stronghold Crusader Extreme, Stronghold Crusader 2. You can also use any map scenario type from any of the games above. To enter the competition, your submission must fall into at least one of three categories below, but you can enter more than one category or even all three if you would like to, providing they are all part of the same entry. For each category you enter, you are automatically assigned one bonus point, simply for entering the category. You can only enter the contest once, and only the first entry will be counted if there are multiple entries. Your submission must be your own work, and it cannot be a file already hosted on our downloads section. It also cannot be an existing file (i.e. it must be created from scratch now & specifically for the competition). Category A (Easy) Create an entirely custom scenario/campaign using any scenario type available through whichever game editor you are using. The custom scenario can be of any difficulty level, contain any number of missions, estates, buildings, advanced tricks or tips, modifications, or any other relevant setting. Fire up your imagination as you create your very own Stronghold realm! Category B (Medium) Create a historically accurate representation of a geographical region, country or landscape of the far-east, a Castle/invasion from the far-east, a historical battle from the far-east or any other relevant real historical idea from the far-east. Simply create this in the map editor of whichever game you're choosing to enter. You can easily integrate this idea with Category A to enter two categories. Category C (Hard) Create a custom modification for the Stronghold game you're using (abiding by the terms of use of the game and site terms and conditions, specifically the part on software modifications). For your modification, make sure to modify the game to be more like the far-east. You might choose to modify a building to go alongside a custom map, or re-skin a unit, create a custom crest, AI Castle, sound files, or more! You might even choose to re-skin the entire game, but this is something for very advanced users If you're entering either category B or C, you may wish to take a look at our series of articles on Medieval Asia by @Crusader1307 so that you can get a better feel for the real historical accuracy of the time period: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/history/medieval-asia Submitting your Entry To submit your entry, there are two steps involved. Both of these steps must be completed before entries close at 11 PM on Sunday, 6th September 2020 in order for your entry to be valid. You can submit your entry at any time between tomorrow (11th July 2020) and the closing date on the 6th September 2020 (4th October 2020- deadline updated after Firefly's postponement of Stronghold Warlords) Step 1: Upload your file (or files if you would prefer to separate your map, modifications, etc) to the Stronghold Nation downloads section, here. Please note that you must be logged in to use the submission link. Step 2: Email contests [at] strongholdnation [dot] co [dot] uk and provide a URL link to your file(s) hosted on our downloads section, or their respective submission numbers if they are not yet approved- make sure you combine all of this information into a single email. You will receive an automatic response the first time you email this address. You will not receive a second response. Please clearly state in the email that this is your entry to the competition, and let us know which categories you would like your submission to be considered for. Scoring and Grading For each category your entry is valid for, you will receive 1 automatic bonus point simply by entering the category. Each submission will be graded from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest), and any bonus points are added to your score (with obviously a maximum of 8 points when the bonus points are considered). The users with the highest three scores will win 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, or if there are multiple users with the same score, a random prize draw will determine the order of the winners. I will be the Competition Administrator for this competition. The Judges are: Myself @EaglePrince The results will be announced as soon as possible after the closing date. Feel free to ask any questions about the contest in this topic, or, you can also PM me or email me directly on lordchris [at] strongholdnation [dot] co [dot] uk at any time if you'd like to discuss your questions in a safe space. I can advise you what is/isn't within the rules, but I can't tell you what you should do or make a decision for you. That's a decision for you to make For a much more detailed breakdown of what is/isn't allowed in your entry, example submissions, detailed guidance and for the exact criteria you will be graded on, take a look at the attached Competition Guidelines PDF attached to this post. Finally, please note that by entering the competition, you are agreeing to the site's Competition terms and conditions, please read them carefully. Good luck everyone, & see you on the battlefield! Update: The deadline for this contest has been extended until 4th October 2020 after Firefly's postponement of Stronghold Warlords. Competition Guidelines.pdf

Hi guys, I'm pleased to announce the site upgrade has been a success. Our forum is now running a new software which has many more features available to it. All your posts and information should be here fine, but if there are any issues please do let me know. A word of warning that anyone who visits the main site will be unable to login for the moment, this is due to an authentication issue I'm working on. But you can still access it as a guest. I've taken this opportunity to change a lot about how the site is configured. To start with, we've done away with the 'New members' group. These were members who had made less than five posts on the site, and had a large number of restrictions placed on them, such as not being able to post links, not view profiles and not use the PM. I'm pleased to say that with the new software, we have been able to reduce the relevant restrictions down to a small number of posts made per user account instead of hindering all users as potential spammers. We also now have a notifications system. You can choose how you want to be notified of topics, posts, PMs...., i.e. you can choose to receive a notification on the site, or receive an email, or get both. You can do that here. There's a lot of potential notification settings, so I'd recommend taking a minute to make sure it's right for you. You can also "follow" other users now. To do this, head over to a user's profile and click the "follow" button. This will notify you of any new content by that user. I've already gone ahead and followed some of you to keep up with what you're doing :) Status updates: On your profile, you can now post status updates. A nice way of keeping in touch with your followers, who can reply to your messages etc. To enable status updates, head over to your profile, click on the "edit profile" button, and then enable them from that screen. Clubs. This is a nice functionality which allow you guys to have more control over what goes on in the community. Clubs are essentially social groups where you can run your own forums on there about things, in addition to the main forums we have. So you might decide to create a History club, or a club dedicated to a certain game mod or something else entirely different. I've already gone ahead and setup a one for the Stronghold 2 LOTR Mod as an example. Login through Steam. You can now login to the site via Steam. We'll be adding more integrations such as Facebook soon. Tapatalk integration. This one is aimed primarily to stop @EaglePrince from nagging ;) ;) I'm pleased to announce that the forum officially supports integration with Tapatalk now. Two-factor authentication. Those of you who are more "security conscious" will be pleased to know you can now authenticate your account using Google Authenticator. Have a look around, get to know the new forum! Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say :)

Sorry for the slow reply to this, I've been snowed under lately with other tasks and haven't had as much time to spend on the forum as I would've liked. I like your castle in the Treachery mission. That's something I used to do a lot, especially in Kingmaker maps- I always used to build walls around my settlement. To me, it just makes sense because you keep all of your buildings protected and population safe... although I don't think it was developed with this decision in mind really, as enemy troops will come to your Castle but are unable to attack your buildings, just sitting there until killed. Thank you for the detailed response too on how you did things! It's written really journalistic :) How would you like to write it up a walkthrough or two for the site walkthroughs section? :) It seems you've done a pretty good job in learning how to complete these missions well, and a hard earned congratulations is in order after all that work! Have you ever tried the Conquest Trail? That's a pretty nice addition to Stronghold 2 as well and is different to other campaign modes because you're just sieging or defending castles. I recently attempted this again and I have to say, it hasn't lost its challenging side ......

On Thursday (2/6/2020) the site will be down for a scheduled upgrade to the forum. Since this upgrade is large and affects the functioning of the entire website, the main site will also be unavailable for the duration of this upgrade. I apologise for any inconvenience this might cause. From around 11 AM BST the site will be taken offline, which I expect will take most of Thursday and possibly into Friday as well, depending on how long things take to upgrade. Once the upgrade is completed we will have a newer, fresher forum interface with much improved functionality. Looking forward to seeing you all again on the other side- thanks everyone!

Just moments ago on IGN's Summer of Gaming 2020 event, Firefly Studios announced that the latest instalment in the series, Stronghold Warlords, would be released on the 29th September 2020. The new game in the series focusses on Medieval Asia and the Far East, including China, Japan and even the Mongols. Recruit, upgrade and command in-game 'Warlords' as you take Stronghold to a new level and battle across the Far East! You can click here to watch the official multiplayer and launch date reveal trailer.

Stronghold 2 Manager is here! Possible to play MP game with bots
Lord_Chris replied to EaglePrince's topic in Stronghold 2
This topic was created back in 2015. A change of site policy has recently occurred in March 2020 after a small influx of similar files, which the Moderation team deemed unethical and banned them from the site. I was unaware this topic still existed and had forgotten about it, but thank you for bringing my attention to it. I've removed all links to the download and now in line with the new site policy this topic will also be closed. In regards to your query about the PM system, I've gone through each user group and balanced things out, so you should be able to use it now. It was originally disabled to prevent any abuse by new members ( I'm sorry for the inconvenience about the PM system, but its intentions were to prevent any discussions against the site rules. We have had members in the past who have abused the PM system to their advantage as a way of evading detection by Moderators. -

Lord_Chris replied to wobbli's topic in Stronghold 2
Thanks for your interest in posting on our forum @wobbli. Unfortunately as this topic is referring to a software modification which injects code into the game as it is playing (essentially a Trainer), and therefore is contrary to the site rules, we cannot permit this topic on the site. I'm therefore going to close it, but if you have any questions on the site rules feel free to shoot me a PM. -
Sorry about that. I just updated that page the other day and it must?ve produced that error. I?ve fixed it now.
