1.4.1 is needed for multiplayer. You may have to install one (or both) of the following patches manually: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/25-patch-14-update/ http://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/12-patch-141-update/

What time? What map? .etc. This might help a bit: http://forums.stronghold-nation.com/topic/173-gaming-event-template/

I'm busy at the moment. :( But if you would like to post a new topic in the gaming events forum and set a specific time, I'll see what I can do (and I'm sure other members will too)

This is another incredible trick! I'm going to try it too =) Here is the article I wrote for the lone campfire trick. That's really neat!

Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress

[OOC] You ruined my ambush attempt :( My own fault really, I should have tried to find time yesterday. -
Should have fixed the error - thanks. That's fine, it wasn't any work really. =)

I've tried the lowered towers trick and this is very impressive! I've written a tutorial on it here: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/206-making-lowered-towers I've expanded an a few points you made, which is why the tutorial is written under my name. But I have given full credit to you. On the previous page of this thread, you added a single image that looked like the finished result. Did you mean to add more steps to your last post? : If you go to the main site and search in the box on the left, you will be able to find all files by a certain user, in this cae tokamaps]. Looking forward to see what else you have to show! =)

Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress
Lord_Chris replied to Charles of Tours's topic in Adventures in the Duchy of Riverbourne
"That's interesting indeed." remarked the commander. "My men serve Lord Richard, and while I would like to join the quest it is not a decision which I can make. " The group trotted along the path, getting narrower and narrower, and the trees getting taller and taller, this was not a place that group wanted to be. Less sunlight was falling in the path and it was getting darker. To make matters worse, the path was closing in so that only two horses could be side by side virtually squashing them together. To their left, was a large 15 foot rise in the ground covered with chopped wood, grass and trees. To their left, a 50 foot drop to their death, should they fall. And to the bottom of the pit was a valley covered in fog and Pine Trees. The group was very soon forced into a long line with Goodman and the commander near the end with many troops in the front, stretching for some distance. From the back, the path was that winding and narrow, and there was so little sunlight, that the front of the line could not be seen. Several Wagons were also at the front which was slowing progress down even more; every few seconds the line stopped as the wagons tried to climb over more trees, and mud which was very hard to traverse through. Progress was even more slow due to the troops having to cut away branches at the front of the line for wagons to get past. No matter how hard they tried, the path would not widen and only the necessary gap was available. Next to the front of the line, trees were passable but only just, and on the left and right of the line. Passing these trees would lead the men into chaos and disarray, and each path would lead them into a maze which they would not recover from. This was their only option. -
Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress

The remainder of the guards lowered their spears and turned around leaving their encirclement, and the officer mounted his horse again. Follow us, and we shall show you where he is. Most of the soldiers rode of into the distance after the officer talked to another guard and he took command of that small group, and a few soldiers remained with the officer guiding the group who started a much slower trot. "So what was your duty, and how did you end up here?" asked the officer. -

While the guards that encircled him lowered their spears towards him, the commander of them leaned back a bit and shouted "Wait! - This man may wish to speak with Lord Richard. You are the group who I saw back at the camp, are you not?" -
Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress
Lord_Chris replied to Charles of Tours's topic in Adventures in the Duchy of Riverbourne
Before any of the adventurers had a chance to speak, the sound of horses could be heard through the trees, getting closer with every second until they were forced to act. The horsemen were traversing through the forest when they clearly saw the group of adventurers and started charging towards them. The adventurers knew they were all around them so they and massively outnumbered them so they quickly formed a circle position as they came charging towards them. One man who suddenly lost his nerve, ran forward with a spear and was killed. The rest were forced to move closer together as the soldiers now trotted along with their spears aimed at the group. Most of them were about to throw their spears when one of them took off their helmet off and commanded "Wait!". He disassembled from his horse and moved closer towards the group. "This does not look like an outlaw group to me. What business do you have in this area? Speak quickly!" -
This is amazing. I'm going to try it tomorrow. =)

These are incredible! They are all phenomenal, and all have the ability to really amaze people - but if I had to narrow it down (which is a hard choice) the ones I think would catch the most attention are: #2 type of bridge Temple stairs lone campfire apple farms without houses Vegetable gardens These really are cool tricks. If you're happy for me too, any articles you write here I'll even add as official articles on the main site (under your name - you will get full credit) such as this one: http://www.stronghold-nation.com/article/205-how-to-make-proper-siege-maps If you can do this for us, I'd gladly make you a contributor ;)

Great to hear! :)

Adventure #01 - A Duke in Distress

[OOC] Sounds suspiciously like the battle of Teutoburg forest .... ;) -
I for one know about the high wall trick, but none others. I'm not sure about others. Pictures and a few steps on how to do these would be awesome! :)
-
I'm guessing yes. But I'm honestly not sure. Someone at Firefly was supposed to have said years ago that changing the colour would mess up a lot of game files but no real progress was ever really made on this.
-
This is a great idea! Any chance you could upload finished saved games to our downloads section? That would be awesome. :)

Thanks , and you too infinitysuns] for your support. :) I've fixed the problem with replying to topics, thanks Nigel.

[OOC] See the announcements forum. -
Hi everyone! I thought I'd post a topic on why the site has been down for the last week. I'd also like to thank everyone for their patience and apologise for the downtime. I'd also like to thank members such as and tokamaps] for getting in touch with me and trying to let me know the site was down. On Saturday 19th September at approximately 10 AM UK time, the raid controller for the site failed, and so did the primary hard drive. The controller then attempted to kick into the secondary hard drive so no data was lost, and that also failed. These type of failings are not common at all, and in fact it's about as common as two car headlights burning out at the exact same time. Our server monitoring team tried their very best, working very long, and very diligently to recover any data possible. That was the main thing that caused this whole process to last as long as it did, as they were trying to salvage data from what they had available. This included backups of the site that the server makes on a daily basis. They then had to make the unfortunate decision that no more data could be salvaged as the were unable to read the data after the server crashed. In this instance, the very thing that protects against data loss, caused the data loss. The server monitoring team restored what they could, but half of the website was missing including ~3000 files, our SSL certificate for the main website and IP address - as well as any subdomains such as the forum. We therefore had to resort to a backup from the 17th of September, and everything posted between the 17th and 19th has been lost, including the update of the forum I did during this time. I will be doing some maintenance later on the site to update it again, but other than this, I can only be sorry for what happened.
