What category would you like it as?

I've had a good look and I can only find two explanations for the error you're getting, the first of which is that you're not selecting which game to submit your file for before pressing the "Continue" button at the end of that page I linked to above. The other explanation is that you're not currently logged in when you're trying to submit your file. Can you confirm or deny either of these statements?
-
Thanks. I'll look into this.

Hi @lord dredd I've split your post from the other thread. Please stop bumping that topic unnecessarily and create a new topic for new issues instead. The link to do this is in the main forum at the top-right above all topics. You can submit a map here: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/submit/ If you are already on that page, could you let me know a bit more information about what you're doing so I can try to track down what the problem might be?

Hi @lord dredd- I've split this into a new topic specific for your issue. We're looking forward to receiving the second part of your file. :)

*Sigh* If only the last quiz had been like this ;) This was a very good quiz! Through more luck than skill I managed to get 7/16. Great mixture of questions, as always!

Hi everyone, Early this morning, around 1 AM here in the UK, CloudFlare was hacked and my account was compromised. Unfortunately, the hacker targeted StrongholdNation specifically in my account and setup a 301 permanent redirect from here to a malicious website. It's important to note that CloudFlare is a completely different thing to the site itself, and is only used on the forum/CDN that we have. The site itself was not hacked. What did happen was an attempt to 'hack by proxy' through an external service, and, to a degree, unfortunately it worked. I've since regained control of the situation, and enabled two-factor authentication on CloudFlare so this cannot happen again. I did this within 10 hours of knowing that the hack took place. This means that you were only affected if you have visited the site since (to be safe, say Midnight UK time) until around now. If you visited the site in that time, first of all, clear all your browser cache, cookie, history, etc, everything. 301 is a permanent redirect that is cached by the browser. This means that every time you attempt to load any page on the site until caching is cleared, your browser will still attempt to redirect to the malware. Next, make sure you absolutely run a malware scan on your PC. I'm in the fortunate position of using Malware Bytes Pro, which blocked the malware for me before I was redirected to it. But some of you may have been unfortunate enough to have been redirected to it. Whatever happens, make sure you run a scan for malware. Because the CloudFlare account was compromised, I'm going to have to change SSL Certificates, API Keys and other various keys which are associated with it. I doubt that anything else will happen but I want to be absolutely sure that everything is properly secured. Once again, I must reiterate that the site itself has not been hacked, and everything is normal again.

I like these new questions, I scored 7/7. Mind, may have just led me to bankruptcy.   So confident she'd fail, yesterday I said to a friend of mine if she scored more than 3 out of 7 on the quiz, next time we're out together I'd pay for anything and everything she desires. Little did I know only around 30 minutes later Crusader would be updating the quiz.. ;) She's just sent a picture of her scoring 7/7 too....

A bit of good news and bad news: Good news is, that the second file appears to have uploaded fine. However, it does have a strange file extension, z01, which means I can't open it. Bad news is, that the first file appears to be corrupt, or at least the version I downloaded. Which is odd, because the file size was also 140~ MB, and the file size showing on the site is 80~ MB. I'm going to attempt to download this again.

I'm just taking a look at that now. :)

Question Stronghold Legends more zoom in the game?
Lord_Chris replied to m55aspe's topic in Stronghold Legends
I've corrected the formatting in the OP's posts, thanks @Crusader1307 for colour correcting it, and as you suggested it would be good to know how he was posting to the site. I am aware of this bug, but I've never been able to accurately track down what causes it and don't have sufficient evidence as to point to anything that could be the cause yet. All I can definitely say is that it's a problem with the editor. I could disable this entirely globally, but it would make formatting more difficult for users so that's not really an approach I'd like to take if I can help it. Back to the question, SHL is very slightly different compared with SH2. In Stronghold 2 there are generally two types of texture files for most units, one that is low detail and one that is high detail, and they are both used differently (and for very appropriate reasons, really). When you zoom out there's no point in showing massive quality that firstly you're not really going to see and secondly will just eat up some of the resource limits. But when you zoom in there are less units in the screen so it only makes sense to have more detail. In Stronghold Legends, though, for the most part this very sadly seems to have been scrapped on the most part. There are still occasions where this does occur, such as on Knights, and certain objects such as Gawain's Shield, but this functionality just doesn't seem to be there. What you could do, though, is in the number of cases where units are exactly the same in both Stronghold Legends and Stronghold 2, such as Archers, you could copy the high texture from Stronghold 2 and replace it in Stronghold Legends which would allow you to view them in a high texture. But ... the downside of doing so is that they'd always be displayed in a high texture. In answer to your question on the units.lodsettings.xml file, that just describes to the game where the models are located and how to load them, not on zoom .etc. -
If you're having issues with Stronghold 2 invasions (which is a common problem) you're more than welcome to open a thread in the Stronghold 2 forum on this so we can discuss it in more detail. Let's try to keep this thread on topic, folks. It is the second time it derailed now. :)

If there are two parts it looks like that could be a solution. See what you can do, hopefully it will work.

I've approved your two files - there is no reason as to why you got the "another file has this name ..." error I can find & I've split this topic to keep this subject separate from the original topic. From what I can tell, it exceeded the maximum allowed size of 128 MB. I do have to update the download guidelines on this, but the maximum file size is 128 MB. There is an error in the error log I've found about it at 3:30 PM this afternoon and before that again at 2:19 PM. If there is another file still to upload - before you try again could you check the file size itself to make sure it doesn't exceed this?
-
There are currently two files sitting in the approval queue, one is for Stronghold 1 which is ~104 MB & the other is Stronghold Crusader which is ~50 MB. I'm downloading them both to make sure everything uploaded ok then I'll approve them. In regards to the Error 500, I'm not actually sure what caused that. I can have a look but it looks like whatever the cause was has corrected itself and was just temporary. I'll also look at the second error you got too. Thanks for doing this.
-
Yes, they're the same. And yes we'll be using GR.
-
Thanks both of you for the offer! @EaglePrince - I'll add those once the files have uploaded, thanks for reminding me.

That's not quite strictly true ... ;) While we are behind in terms of numbers compared with HG, our site is constantly updated with new downloads, maps and content in general. Just recently actually we had a few users register and submit several new maps to us - I've just created an official extension for Stronghold 2 & updated another one here and @LordPaultheDubious has uploaded many saved games from thw Stronghold Crusader Warchest Trail - all this has just happened within the last month. And, that's in conjunction with various articles being written and forum posts such as this. Over the last 90 days we've also had over 10,000 visitors here too. Yes - though this is done on a category basis. For example, to subscribe to Stronghold Crusader Skirmish go here and click on the "subscribe" link: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/category/stronghold-crusader/skirmish/ You just need to select the game & download category from the main downloads index to get to that page for any category.

Yes - I've actually been meaning to do this myself but haven't had a chance to get around to it yet. It you could upload one or two of them for me that would be awesome. :) You'll have to zip it but otherwise that's ok.

"Unsubscribe From All" Button
Lord_Chris replied to Mathew Steel's topic in Site Questions and Support
I can consider it for a future version of the forum, but I think it's unlikely to make an appearance soon. -
Thanks, also been having transactional related issues. Currently onto the host now about it and getting it solved as we speak.

@EaglePrince is absolutely spot on with his answers. The Federal Reserve is basically the equivalent of The Bank of England here in the UK and does a similar kind of job, just as the European Central Bank does for the European Union's Eurozone (But each country in the Eurozone also has its own Central Bank too).

Presenting: one of our official extensions for Stronghold 2! Before I'd start I'd like to say that we did not create this modification; I created the installer for it but the basic components already existed and were created by some of the Stronghold Knights team. This extension will automatically install itself to a new folder in Stronghold 2 'mods/SHK Desert Mod' - in the event you'd like this uninstalled, run the uninstallation file within that folder. It changes the game files by itself when you run the installer after downloading and backs them up automatically. This is a step towards the much needed automatic extension process in Stronghold 2 and makes the process a lot simpler for the end user. Screenshots: Download: https://www.stronghold-nation.com/downloads/file/488-stonghold-2-desert-mod/ I've also added a new 'Egyptian Walls' mod as well, though this does not work on an installer. You can grab this here. Screenshot: Finally, I've updated our music pack to turn it into another of our official game extensions; this installs itself to the folder 'mods/SHN Music Pack' in the main Stronghold 2 folder and is uninstalled as easily as the Desert Mod. You can get that here.

Welcome @Lurker to StrongholdNation! I hope you have a fantastic time here, and thank you for joining us. :)

Hi @Lurker Stronghold Legends & Stronghold 2 save games & maps in exactly the same way therefore it is possible to use the Stronghold 2 Map Unlocker on Stronghold Legends maps too. I've tested this in the past and it works in exactly the same way.
