Very interesting. I like co-op a lot. In fact I created maps for co-op skirmishes but I never played co-op missions before. If you see me online on steam send me a message and hopefully we will be able to play.

Anyone played the Jackal and Khan DLC?
Andreas9541 replied to Andreas9541's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
I have saved it but it's up to the point where only the last enemy exists for the people who only want to just beat it to get the achievement. I don't know how to find the save file though. If you give me some instructions I can happily send it to the admin for upload. As for the players who want to beat it from the ground up (normal mode) then I highly advise you to do the following: 1) (credits to Micha) As soon as you start the game, build a big tower near your keep (and away from Richard) and a barracks behind it so you won't need to waste any more rock on stairs. Use the remaining stone to build an armory (buy more stone if you must) and buy armor and crossbows. You are only going to be able to recruit 5 crossbow men at this point because you are strapped for cash, but you need them badly. 2)Build as many wood cutters as possible 3) (This should be at the top) Build your granary next to the grass and start building farms, apple orhards etc. You can't afford the wood to set up bread production for now. You are going to be getting non-stop attacks and you will need to build your economy as you defend your castle. 4)Try to get as much stone quarrys as early as possible because the stone that you get will allow you to make a lot of gold early on so you can sell it and buy more crossbow men. (I managed to build 4 but I suspect that I could do 5 if my hand was steadier XD ) Basically the 3 things you should be concerned with at the begining is: a) stone production b) crossbow men c) various foods to be able to ask 2x taxes 5) At this point you should have enough money and soldiers, towers to defend your castle. You should have a bunch of crossbow men, archers, healers on your towers (I recommend 3 spread out equally) and squires on the ground to delay the armoured units or stop slaves from burning your buildings. But it's no time to relax yet. 6) You need to move your towers to the front line as much as possible in order to mess up Richard's economy. Then it's up to your imagination on how to take him down. I build 4-5 catapults, 25 archers to kill soldiers on his keep and a 20 Arabian swordsmen to finish him. Again it's no time to relax. You need to take out the Jackal. This time you will be able to build some weapon buildings (I recommend 3 armourers, 3 cross bow makers). Move them along the edge of the map to avoid all the invasions. Now you can relax a bit. Build your bread production set up and erase your farms, start iron production and automatically sell it along with stone, more weapon production etc. 7) Once you take out the Jackal you need to beef up your defences. Use the bow towers and magonels to destroy siege equipment easier. Put 3-4 sergeants on the towers that wolf is attacking (he sends multiple waves of crossbow men who do a lot of damage despite your advantage). From then on you need brute force to power through all the invasions from the only path that is available for invasion. Put your crossbow men in carriers so they can shoot and move at the same time and recruit a boatload of Arabian swordsmen to kill the other units. I had about 50 cross bow men and 60 swordsmen at that point. Conclusion: It's by far the most challenging skirmish I ever had. I'm planning on playing it again on custom skirmish mode with resource advantage and extra time just for the fun of it. -
Anyone played the Jackal and Khan DLC?
Andreas9541 replied to Andreas9541's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Finally after so many hours of playing I beat it. That was by far the most challenging of them all. I ended up with a score of 376k and I killed a total of 10k enemy troops.? -

I have only used this strategy once in the previous DLC and I didnt think i was going to need it again. Thanks for the tip man. -
So I got the new DLC and I feel like I was trolled when I played the new skirmish missions. They are somewhat challenging but somewhat annoying but overall easy to complete except skirmish 9. I restarted this mission 5 times and I still haven't figured out how to beat it. It's ridiculously difficult. The attacks keep coming non stop with each attack more soldiers and I can't keep up. Anyone beat it yet?

Mod for Stronghold Crusader 2: Templars Nightmare
Andreas9541 replied to TheBlackGrouse's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
@BlackGouse I didn't try the mod but from what you have written above looks like a good upgrade. I do agree that Rangers and pikemen should be an elite unit, stronger walls, proper watchtowers. However, if I was to make an upgrade to this game particularly with desert theme I would probably be more concerned with manipulating the environment. Arabs learnt to adapt in their harsh environment and have been undefeated for as long as history exist. With the above in mind if I was to make changes I would probably do the following: Environment: - Sand dune (texture) slows down heavy armoured units. When it rains, it gets muddy and all units slow down when walking over it. - Siege equipment should roll down faster when going downward a slope and vice versa. - Shallow river waters also slow down the units. - Make thorny bushes that hurt soldiers when they pass by them Economy: - Introduce silver in the money system. This does not mean that some items or troops would be exclusively required to be bought with silver but rather preventing the player from buying high amounts of units at a time. e.g 200 horse archers with 20-30 mantlets. The system of gold and silver would work like this: Receive both metals with taxation at the same time but change the proportions to favour the more valuable metal when bigger houses are build close to the keep (upper class population we touch on that later) and vice versa. Silver could act as complementary payment method. For instance a knight could cost 200 gold OR 300 silver. Instead of acquiring 1000 gold between 30-60 seconds (typical income from 120+ population and taxes x5) and spawning five knights with ease, you will now spawn less knights because you will not acquire that much gold at a time. I hope this makes sense... Population: Upper, middle, low class. Upper class pays 75% gold 25% silver, middle pays 50-50 and so on. Building: I wouldn't impose limitatin on the numbers that can be build but rather make create less smooth surface and restrict land I know that Firefly will not read this and likely not implement a lot of things since they as broke as s**t but it would be nice to have these factors in mind. -
Any tutorials on making scenarios for SHC2 map editor?
Andreas9541 replied to Andreas9541's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
This isn't much but while I was playing around with the markers tab I made a successful AI invasion on my castle without the soldiers coming back to their castle. I placed a 'pathing' marker on the entry point (1st generic aka 'candy' marker) and then double clicked on the 'chain' to place another pathing marker (which was linked to the first one) on my keep. It worked when I didn't have repeat count... -

That is a mystery greater than the Bermuda triangle wrecks. I found the solution for this one. Build a keep only and no spawn point and make sure that all the AI's buildings are build after you mark their territory. I'm not sure why that works, but it might also have to do with happiness factor. Maybe if you set the starting goods to a certain level, the AI will start employing people. The above 3 somehow dropped the unemployment rates for my AI :D -

Andreas9541 replied to Andreas9541's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Maybe I shouldn't have placed the keep at all. Or maybe AI is trying to compensate for the already placed soldiers there. That was a mistake I made at the beginning because I didn't consider what mission I was going to do. Thanks for the tip. It f*****g sucks to not be able to add more and bigger stuff because the game is not optimised. Firefly is really really desperate for the money to get this game working. Anyway, I'm not ready to give up just yet. -

Alright man, I saw your post a few days ago and started working on my first mission map. Objective: Kill The Wolf before the day count (60). There are invasions which get progressively harder throughout the game. If he doesn't die by day 60 you lose. I only have two problems with it. 1) I don't know how to set the win objective (enemy lord dies). I tested the map, killed the AI but the mission didn't end :P 2) I placed buildings in Wolf's castle just for him to have an economy but everyone remains unemployed in his economy throughout the whole game :S P.S He does have a castle with defences but because I made the mistake of putting the mission in an XL map I placed invasion markers close to the 'human' lord's area. How do I send you the file for any criticisms for my mission after these issues are resolved (or in case you want to edit yourself)? Thanks -
The Princess & The Pig DLC and new patches
Andreas9541 replied to Nigel's topic in Stronghold Crusader 2
Likes: Knights can mount up anywhere instantly. Dervishes are not ridiculously overpowered. No mounting glitch. The princess looks cool. Doesn't Like: Knights are more expensive. The pig looks and sounds like a spoiled boy in comparison to the SHC1 Pig. Still no proper watch tower. Grand tower requires too much stone to build. Dervishes not sprinting like mace men and instead do the stupid power walk (not the attack sprint) -

Vedtka: I just opened your map 'Chindra' (steam version) to see your scenario scripting and I have a few questions: I noticed that you placed two flags (they look very much like tasty colourful candies but let's call them 'flags' xD ). The green flags 'G1' and 'G2' are not highlighted on the markers tab. Basically the command buttons showing you whether or not there is availability of flags is not coloured. How did you place G1 and G2 without clicking on flags 3 and 4 in the markers tab? For the AI tab: What exactly does the 'Missile Defender' all the way to the 'Siege troops from up' mean? Are they related to village guard houses? Lastly, the 'Edit scenario' -> 'Events' tab: What is the 'repeat interval option' exactly mean (it says '5' for all events) and the 'Is Idle' button? I know that some of these staff that i'm asking you may sound like common sense to you, but I'm having a hard time understanding their functions and how they are connected to the flags. Thanks for being patient with me so far. Once I figure it out, I'm definitely going to post some missions here for other people to understand. :) -

Thanks. I will give it a try and write back after I finish a map i'm working now. P.S I played 'chundra' from steam workshop. I thought that was the hard map, but after I saw that the hard version is on this site, it hurt a little. :'( PP.S I need to get my eyes checked. I just clicked on the dislike button by accident xD -

Do you mean the 'Generic' tab. I kind of lost you there. I checked the markers tab and it seems frustratingly complicated. I searched for guides on that but I found nothing. I don't even want to mention the other scenario editing options because it gives me headache just by thinking about it :S Have you created any maps with missions like the lioheart campaign in learning skirmish mode? I got your map 'chundra' and I found it very amusing (minus the lag from the overcrowded towers and invaders  ) and it really inspired me to make my own mission maps. -

Sorry about that. I thought that providing guides kind of falls in volunteer work xD I have pretty much learned most of design and aesthetic and functionality aspects of the map editor features, 5 maps ago :P . The scripting though is extremely challenging for me. All the maps that I created were basically 70% aesthetic and 30% functional. I'm looking to make some challenges or even my own skirmish trails once I get good at this. -
Hello guys, i've only been playing this game for the last two months and recently I started using the map editor. I made a few maps for custom skirmishes, but now i wish to make mission maps just like the lionhearts' 3rd mission on learning campaign. A guide on scenario editing would be really helpful. Thanks
